Some updates and stuff

Forgive me for the very un-clever title to this post but I'm sick today (though I'm feeling a lot better now than I did earlier!).

Anywho, almost two years ago exactly I started writing Suburban Girl. Well, I just finished it, believe it or not! Don't let the link I just gave fool you, though: there are twelve chapters in total, not eight. I just haven't uploaded chapters 9 through 12 to this site, yet. I keep trying to get myself motivated to update this site with all of my stories (which is still missing Shawn and Lilly, Bush Fires, Carefree Again, the SG chapters... the list goes on!) and a few other things, too, but it's a real pain in the butt and just the thought of doing so depresses me. Eventually I'll do it but in the meantime you can see all of my stories (and access all 12 complete chapters of Suburban Girl) via my page on the SOL.net site. Click here for that.

So why, do you ask, do I post first to SOL.net and not here? Because it's easier to do so, simple as that! With ASSTR I have to fire up an FTP client, edit an HTML page using Frontpage, upload everything, make sure the links work... on and on and on! With SOL.net I just click a couple buttons and yay! It's there. Neat.

I know some of you think it's a pain because while SOL is free it does require registration, but I don't get what the big deal about registering is! I mean, it's free... and don't tell me you don't register out of "principle". That's just dumb. Most sites nowadays require registration, after all!

On that note, no, I am not going to re-enable anonymous comments to this blog. A lot of people have asked for this but haters, trolls, and spam-bots have ruined the anon-posting for all of you. I know it's not your fault and that it sucks you have to pay for a minority's abuse, but that's just how it is.

Oh! I almost forgot... here's a picture of some pretty girls who definitely want to have sex with you. :P You get that for promising to comment/give-feedback/give high SOL scores regarding Suburban Girl...! Thanks!

Carefree Again

Those of you in the know will remember my post a while back about a story I was writing on the SOL.net Google Group. Well guess what? I've actually started posting it! My version, anyway... and you can read it here.

Let me know your thoughts in the comment section! And btw, yes, I'm still working on all my other incomplete stories. If time is infinite I shall finish them all!

A New Story (sort of!)

As you might already know, I'm an irregular member of the SOL.net discussion group over at Google Groups. Recently one of my fave authors ever, Rache, posted a topic there called "Add-a-Scene". In it she asked the group's members to add a scene to a little story she was writing.

I did add to it and it was fun (until someone ruined my contribution! Grrr). I thought it was such a good idea, though, that I created my own thread called "add-a-scene II". Since then I've been adding to this little story a lot... basically I just wait for someone to update the story (even if it's just with a sentence!) and then I go crazy writing additions to it (it's amazing how many words I can write when I don't care about little things like "spelling" and "grammar"!).

The story is called "Carefree Again" and it's about a 34-year-old woman who wakes up one morning as a 13-year-old child. So far her boyfriend (David) and her daughter, and son (16-year-old Jessie and 13-year-old George) have made appearances in this sordid little tale. But it's just getting warmed up! :P

Anyway, I'm having a lot of fun working on this little "story in progress". I was hoping that some fans of my site might show an interest, too, and add a word or two to this story. Check out the thread and if it interests you at all, definitely add something! It's sort of a round-robin/community work hybrid and it's fun and cool (I hope!).

Comments appreciated!

P.S. On an unrelated topic, I've been trying to get an invitation code for Demonid.com since the Pirate Bay was sold... and no luck! Grrr... if you can send me a code I'll thank you with a reasonable suggestion of your choice! (i.e. uploaded files, a personal story, etc.). Thanks in advance!!!! //UPDATE!!! Thanks to everyone who sent me an invitation! I already joined the site thanks to "Rain" so the rest of the codes have been deleted/ignored... but thanks for thinking of me!

Moving and Stories and Sick Boyfriends

First of all, thanks to everyone who sent me "Rache sucks, you should have won!" e-mails after I lost in my writer's showdown against her the other day. While I vehemently disagree with the whole "Rache sucks" thing, getting angry e-mails from fans who think I was cheated made me smile. I especially loved the conspiracy theory e-mails. I dusted off my tin-foil hat after reading one in particular... (you know who you are... and yes, They are watching us)!

Incidentally, you can see me and Rache's entries for "Bush Fires" over at SOL.net in the Showdown Universe. I turned off voting for my story because I posted the original, no-edit/never proofread version that I submitted. I'll turn on voting for my "author's preferred edition" if and when I post it...

Thanks, also, to those of you who took the time to post your comments and/or send me e-mails regarding my disaster of a Valentine's Day date. Just to clarify a couple of things, he's older than me and owns his own condo. The reason I drove him to his parents' house was because he was *really*, *really* sick. I was the one who suggested he not be alone, actually. As it turns out he ended up staying with his parents until just today when he finally stopped puking his brains out. He told me on the phone today that he wants a redo in regards to our date, so that should be fun!

He also worried that I might have caught his bug. I laughed and said, "No, I'm fine! See, there's this thing called flu-shots...". :P

Oh! One other interesting piece of news. My landlord asked me the other day if I'd be interested in moving into a smaller apartment. It's about $100 a month cheaper than what I'm currently paying and it's in the same house, so I said, "Fuck yeah!". I don't need a lot of space. I start the moving process tomorrow, though, and there is one big hiccup: that apartment doesn't have cable wired to it yet. The cable company said they'll have a guy out here soon to do the installation but until then I'll be without the Internet. Oh noes!!!

Well, I'll let you all get back to doing what you do. Later!

My Valentine's Day Massacre

I had a date tonight. A real and honest date with a good man I really like. I took off Valentine's Day for him. What did I get?

Halfway through our dinner he had to excuse himself to go vomit.

He was sick. I had to drive him, in his car, back to his parents' house. Forty minutes out of my way. The guy lives a twenty minute walk from where I live but I had to drive him all the way to his parents'.  His dad ended up driving me back home. That was uncomfortable, to say the least.

...

I don't blame him. He warned me he was "under the weather". Still, that really, really sucked.

Also, I lost my competition with Rache. Not only lost, actually: I was crushed. Not one of the judges voted for my story. I learned about that earlier in the day.

Apparently I'm a horrible writer who induces vomit from her courtiers.

Ultimate Showdown!

Hey everybody!

So I've been spending a lot of time hanging out on the StoriesOnline.net Google Group. It's a pretty active discussion group full of a healthy mix of both erotica readers and authors. I suggest you check it out if complaining about SOL.net scores, listening to authors comment on their best and worst stories, and other erotica-related discussions are your thing...!

But anyway, I especially suggest that you check it out Thursday night! The legendary author (one of my favorites), Rachael Ross, is dusting off* her Rache pen-name one last time to challenge yours truly to an author's showdown!

If everything goes according to plan the competition will go down like this. Thursday night at 9pm EST the competition's moderator, MassiveReader, will post a new thread to start the showdown. That thread will include the title of the story both Rache and I will have three hours to write. We won't know the title in advance and will have just three hours (!) to conceive, write, and proof a story that's at least 1,000 words long. After we're finished each of us will e-mail our submissions to MassiveReader who will then remove our names and forward them on to three pre-selected (and secret!) judges. It's unclear to me at this time whether or not he'll also be posting the stories to the thread at this time... shrugs.

Anyway! The mysterious judges will each decide which story they feel is best (or, as Rache put it, "least bad"). When they're done judging, MassiveReader will announce the winner of the "writer's showdown" to the thread. If he hasn't already done so I'm assuming he'll also be posting Rache and my submissions to the thread, too.

I'm really looking forward to this. I think Rache is a much better author than me and her prolific nature definitely gives her an advantage when it comes to "speed writing" or whatever, but I won't be intimidated! :)

Hope to see you all there!

~practicing her quick draw~

P.S. Yes, I know I still haven't posted the SG and S&L updates to this site. Give a girl a break, I'll do it the next time I have time! :)

*Regarding Rache: For some very complicated reasons I'm not sure I fully understand myself, Rache recently "retired" that particular pen-name and pulled all 200+ stories of hers from SOL.net. She's been reposting them but not under the Rache name; instead she posts each story under the name of its main character (e.g. her story "Girl Fag" is being posted under the author name "Ann Russett", the main character of that story). Oh, and FYI? On the SOL.net group she's been posting under the alias "Avid Reader".

An Update on Family Honor

Well, I'm still overwhelmed by all the positive e-mails I've been receiving for "Family Honor", my latest short story. Seriously, I've never had such an overwhelmingly positive response for anything I've ever written; it's really shocking, to tell the truth!

Until a few minutes ago the story was only posted to storiesonline.net. I took the time just now to add it to ASSTR. You can read it here, in my stories collection.

There's one thing I want to address about this story, btw. Although the dozens of e-mails I've been getting about this story are 99% positive (89 e-mails so far, can you believe it?!) the 1% that aren't explain why the story has such a low score on SOL.net (6.29 out of 10 as of this post), I think. One e-mailer, JD_Seller, summed it up well:

you suckered many of us on this one... Please include [accurate story] codes
in the future. I don't enjoy these type of stories and will not read
them... I felt very mislead by this story. I reflected it in my voting.
More than a few people have written me similar e-mails. They felt "tricked" into reading "Family Honor" because, and I readily admit this, I didn't provide accurate story codes for this short story.

I want to explain why I didn't code the story properly. It wasn't an accident and it wasn't an attempt to trick the reader, either. It was a concious decision.

...but to those who haven't had a chance to read the story yet I don't want to ruin anything. My explanation will be a definite spoiler. That's why, to read the rest of this post, you're going to have to highlight the text after this sentence. I'll be writing black-on-black, :P!

**SPOILERS BELOW! HIGHLIGHT TEXT TO READ! READER BEWARE! ETC! :P**

The reason I didn't use many codes for my short story, "Family Honor", and instead chose to give a generic warning in the story synopsis, is simple: I didn't want to ruin the story. If I had included a story code mentioning "rough sex" or anything close to that then the reader would have been tipped off beforehand that rough sex would be included. This would have ruined the surprise in the scene where it's revealed Kaylee is actually a slut. That wouldn't have been fair to the reader and would have sort of ruined the premise of the story.

Likewise, had I used a code mentioning incest, the reader would have known from the get-go that Cole would end up fucking his sister, again ruining the surprise. I felt, and still feel, that would have ruined the story for a great many people. So I left that code out, too.

It was a hard decision to make. In the end, however, I felt it would do more harm to the story than good to include these "spoiler" codes.

I know that some readers were annoyed and even angred by encountering such "taboo" sex scenes without warning, and to them I ask their forgiveness. Still, I stand by my decision.

To those who wonder why I've never failed to accurately code my longer stories before, the reason is simple. TTT, ATSS, and SG are all long stories! If you see the code "incest" in ATSS, for instance, you don't know when or where the incest will occur since there are 20 chapters. In a short story it's different.

I'm sorry to anyone who feels betrayed by the lack of codes. I can only ask you to see things from my point of view and agree that keeping a story fresh and surprising is more important than revealing beforehand every sex-act that will occur in a short, erotic story.

Again, sorry! Please don't hate me; there was nothing malicious in my intent when I left out the codes. I wasn't trying to "trick" anyone. I promise!

Reccomendations: The Sequel!

After I made a post about reading "Long Fall to Forever", a story by Rache, a lot of you e-mailed me with other story recommendations. I ended up reading most, if not all, of them, and it was a lot of fun! There's nothing better than having someone who shares similar tastes suggest a new story, or author, or whatever. So that's why I'm posting this blog entry: to ask for more!

My question to you is this: what is your favorite online porn-story ever, and why?

Feel free to suggest anything. The story doesn't have to be of a forbidden genre although, of course, that's what I prefer. All I ask is that you provide a link and a short description of the story and why you like it. You don't have to write an essay: a simple "it's a hot story about this chick whose sister is a stripper" would be fine.

In my next blog entry (probably in about three weeks) I'll post the best recommendations here with my own thoughts included. You can make your recommendations by e-mailing me, posting a comment here, or by posting a reply to this thread on the forum.

Thanks in advance... oh, and happy new year!

Triumphant Return?

Okay so maybe I jumped the gun a little when I said I needed to kill this website... I mean, where else am I going to be able to post new stories? :P

Maybe I'll go into more detail later about my failed attempt to try something new in order to make money (which had been my main reason for leaving this site). Right now I really don't want to talk about it. What I do want to talk about is my newest story, something I've been working on for a couple weeks and that I'm so excited about I actually decided to post it to the masses. It's called Suburban Girl and... well, I might as well just copy and paste my intro to the story I used for my post to ASSM. Here it is!

Author's Note: This story is heavily inspired by my personal favorite UseNet story of all time, "Farm Girl" by Dark Dreamer. It's not a retelling of that awesome tale, nor is it a sequel or anything like that. Rather it's sort of a re-imagining of Dark Dreamer's classic character, Becky, as told in my own words. I hope no one is going to consider this plagiarism. I have loved "Farm Girl" for more than a decade now, having first read it when I was a shy 13-year-old girl who knew little about erotica but became instantly hooked. I hope that this story serves as a tribute to Dark Dreamer's work.

Synopsis: In the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio a young girl discovers that masturbation is a sin. But when she breaks a promise to God to stop her immoral actions she begins to see the Bible's list of sexual restrictions as her most basic and carnal desires. Because for this 13-year-old suburban girl, sin and her wanton sexual needs go hand in hand as she struggles to endure a body built for sex, abuse, and constant orgasm.

So where can you go to read this story? Well, I've only posted part one so far, but never fear part two is coming soon. And part three is almost done. That leaves four unwritten parts, I know, but I'm enjoying writing this so much I have every confidence I'll actually get it done! Uhm... don't look at me like that. Trailer Trash Teen is still in progress, too... argh. Anyway, to read this story simply mosey on over to my stories section. It should be posted there eventually (I've uploaded the files but ASSTR.org has very slow servers). You could also try searching for it on alt.sex.stories.moderated... again, I posted it there but the process of having new submissions show up is something like 48-hours. But do you want to know where you can get it right now?

Where you can read it at this very moment?

Where doing so would also be doing me a HUGE favor? :P

Head on over to www.storiesonline.net. If you haven't already, register for the site (it's free, and it's worth doing for more than just my stories... SOL.net hosts a TON of great works!). Then either do a "Quick Search" for "Suburban Girl" or just go to the author's link at the top of the main page, find my name (first click on the link "P" as in "Punky_Girl"), scroll down to my name (Punky_Girl!) then click on the link for "3 Stories" (because I have three stories hosted there right now). Sounds easy, right? It is, I just make it sound complicated... sorry!

"But Shannon!" I can hear you asking, "How does reading any of your stories on SOL.net help you?"

Simple. Because I can trust you, my loyal readers, to give my stories there good scores. At the end of every story SOL.net asks you to rate what you just read. But a lot of people don't like the genres I write in and so they give any stories that deal with themes such as incest or non-consensual sex pathetically low scores, generally 1's and 2's. The reason I know for a fact this is going on is because I get a lot of hate-mail through SOL.net, as have many other authors I've chatted with who post there. The hate mails are usually like, "dad fux his sleppin kid that sik i hope u die i gave it 1" (for the record, A Teen Slut's Saga still brings in the most hate mail... grr). Shrugs. Anyway, it'd be nice for a change if I had a story on there get a rating over 8.12 (that's what TTT has right now; A Teen Slut's Saga has a paltry 6.39).

So please! Even if you read my newest story somewhere else, do me a favor and go over to SOL.net and give it a 10! Better yet, do the advanced ratings option and give it a 10 in each category! Better still, after you've done that with Suburban Girl, head on over to my other two stories and try to prop their scores up a bit! I'm dying here, I'm dying!!! I just can't take the fact that my stories, while definitely not perfect, suffer these miserably low scores while pieces of shit, poorly written cookie cutter stories constantly score in the 9 to 10 range! It kills me, it kills me! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Sorry. Anyway, vote early and often. And as always, use the forum to discuss my newest story, or post a comment here, or if you're not feeling shy at all drop me an e-mail. Or just do all three. You'll make my day. Thanks!!!!!!
