Help Shannon and Her Site!

Updated 25 January 2006 (here)

"Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round
Help me get my feet back on the ground
Won't you please, please help me?"

--Help! by the Beatles (Lennon/McCartney)

Our little site here needs help! If you have the knowledge or the financial resources or simply the desire to help, this part of the site is for you. Here I will let the world know what Forbidden Fantasies needs in order to survive.

Please keep in mind that this site is totally, 100% free-- no ads, no bullshit! And I don't want that to change. This "help page" is meant to provide those of you who are capable and willing of helping us with the information you need in order to do so. Nothing more!

So here's the list of what we need (last updated 12 January 2006):

1.) Donations to ASSTR.org. ASSTR.org is the host of this site, and they spend a lot of money every month to keep it running (not only my site, but many many others!). Please support them-- by doing so, you'll be supporting me! Because if ASSTR.org ever goes away, so will I... and that would suck. :P

2.) Forum-donation. I love our site's forum, but I hate the ads it shows right now. If anyone can help cover the forum's low ad-free version cost, please consider doing so! Read more about this here

Update (25 January 2006): I no longer need help for this! An awesome friend of the site whom I'll call B.R. for now paid the money necessary to get them shut off! Yay! Thank you so much, B.R.! I'm so glad those ads are off, you have no idea (actually you might, if you know how angry it makes me to think that some for-profit companies can make money off of my totally free site... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!).

3.) This is a stupid request, it really is. Skip down if you'd rather help me in a more meaningful way. I mean, it's not going to really "help" me in any tangible way with this one, but... sigh. My ego demands I ask it! Okay. It's simple. If you want to help me by making me feel good, go to www.storiesonline.net (a free site that requires registration). After you register and access the site, click on the link at the top that says "Authors". Then click on the link for the letter "P". Then scroll down until you find my name, "Punky_Girl". Do not click on my name!!!! Click on the link in my row that says "Stories". That will bring up my two stories, TTT and TSS. Read one (or both!) of them online, via SOL (storiesonline.net)! Then give whichever story you read a really high score (like a 10!). Because, see, my current scores are 8.82 for TSS, and 9.34 for TTT, out of 10. Those might sound like good scores, but for SOL, they aren't. And maybe my stories really don't deserve great scores! Yet when I read the stories in the "Top Scores" area of the website, I was shocked. I saw bad writing, terrible characters, etc. Eventually I realized: to get a 9.8+ score on SOL the story has to involve a.) hetero-only sex, b.) two-partner only sex, and/or c.) totally boring sex. I'm not trying to be mean, but the highest scoring stories on that site are usually boring. On SOL.net, stories that explore the forbidden genres simply don't score well (a lot of Christians scoring stories with 1's arbitrarily, methinks!).  I'd like to see my stories do better there. So if you want to help, go there and vote. And vote high!!! Remember, though, you do need to read the stories before voting. SOL.net has an ingenious system in place to prevent false-votes: they use cookies to time how long you've actually spent on any given story chapter. If it's obvious you've been creating accounts to give yourself high scores (I guess writers used to do this!), your vote doesn't count for anything. Anyway... please, if you like either of my stories, go over to SOL and read them again (or "pretend" you're reading them again). And then give that story a 10. And if you happen to spend more time on SOL.net reading other stories, please vote honestly or not at all!!! B/c I would never give a 1 to a story that had content I simply didn't approve of.  I'd either not vote, or not read it. There are a lot of great stories on SOL.net that are buried because too many evangelicals forced them down. Please help me start forcing them up!!! :)

Those are the big issues right now, the big ways you can help me. There are more, though! If you don't have money you can still help me and this site by participating in the forum (it brings in new members!), spreading the word of the site (ditto!), and contacting me. Contacting me makes me feel wanted, whether you're suggesting a story for me to review or just saying hi... and when I feel wanted, I get excited. When I get excited, the site benefits... trust me! :P
