It's always been sort of difficult for me to
explain what this website is. Is it a collection site for erotic stories of
the "forbidden" genres? Yes. Is it a place for me to write about
my life? Yes. Is it a place for like-minded people to meet and chat via an
active forum? Yes! It's all that and more, and less, too.
Confused yet? Good! It's confused me for
years...
A Brief History
I first discovered porn-stories when I was
15-years-old. It didn't take long for me to get obsessed-- I loved reading
erotic stories a lot more than watching videos or looking at dirty
pictures. The strange thing, though, was that I was almost immediately
attracted to the "taboo" subjects rather than the
"normal" ones. Stories about humiliation, incest, and other
"disturbing" topics got me off a lot better than stories of
romance ever did. I'm sure there are psychological reasons for this, but the
bottom line is that I've never changed. To this day I get bored, frankly,
when I try to read the "socially acceptable" types of erotica.
That's just how I am!
The problem with loving these types of stories,
though, was finding them. Sure, there were tons of forbidden-oriented
stories out there, but 95% of them were crap. And after my favorite
collection site ever disappeared it got even harder for me to find good
stuff. For a long time I waited for another good collection site to appear.
Finally, in January 2003, I couldn't wait anymore! I decided to create my
own collection on ASSTR.org. At first, the sole reason for creating the site
was to fill a void: I simply wanted to collect great stories of all
"forbidden" genres. I wanted to review them, link to them, and
basically be a "hub" on the internet for people like me who wanted
to access great forbidden stories.
The Coming of Spencer
The site didn't remain a simple collection-site
for long, though. Eventually I began writing my own story-- Trailer Trash
Teen-- and posting it to the ASSTR site. And then something else happened: I
began writing a diary. At the time I had a livejournal that I updated on a
frequent basis, but what bothered me about it was that I couldn't be totally
honest there, you know? My friends visited the journal, and there's no way I
wanted them to know about my "darker" side. So I figured, Why not
write about my darker side on my collection site? I could be honest there
about my darker sexual desires, about my foolish and often reckless sexual
behavior, etc. Basically, I could pour out the details of the life I hid
from my real-life friends!
Even with the addition of the diary, though,
the original site would have remained pretty small (and extremely simple) if
it hadn't been for Spencer. A fan of the site, Spencer offered to help me
make it better. With his help the site got a major overhaul in appearance
and one extremely important addition: the Forbidden Forum!
The forum became very popular right away, and I
met some really cool people through it. I was blown away by how active the
"regulars" on the forum got, and I think it was about three months
into the forum that I realized my little site had taken on a life of its
own.
The .Net Site
Eventually another huge change occurred to the
site. Another fan contacted me and offered to revamp the site entirely-- and
even get it its own URL! I was so excited. ASSTR was always good to me but
the idea of having a more state-of-the-art site (and my own domain!) was
just too cool to pass up.
For a long time the .Net site was awesome, too.
The only problem was that unlike ASSTR, the net site cost money. Small ads
were placed on it to try and cover the costs, but eventually the site's
creator got fed up with footing the bill. One day, without any warning, the
.net site was gone. The worst part about this was that I had added a ton of
content to the site, all of which had now disappeared.
FFStories.com
While beginning the long process of moving the
site back to ASSTR, another fan of the site contacted me. He offered to host
the site himself, on his own server, for free. Although I was wary of
trusting a stranger again, he proved that he was serious by creating the new
site on his own and showing me the results. I was so impressed that
ffstories.com was born!
The biggest difference between ffstories.com
and the old .net site was that FFStories had its own forum. With Spencer's
collaboration the old Forbidden Forum was "locked" and people were
encouraged to post to the new FFStories.com forum instead. They did, and
everything seemed to be going great!
What Now?
So, what now? Well, as of December 1st 2005,
the ffstories.com website isn't working. I don't know why it went down,
either. The webmaster has promised to get it back up and running, and I'm
sure he will. But until then I've decided to revamp the ASSTR.org site.
Why? Because ASSTR.org has always been
reliable. The .net site was removed without warning; the ffstories.com site
has problems sometimes. But ASSTR.org has always worked! Because of this, my
new plan is to overhaul the ASSTR.org site and forevermore keep it updated.
If the ffstories.com site returns, that will be the "main" site.
However, I'll never allow the ASSTR.org site to go un-updated again. Think
of the ASSTR.org site as a backup. This way I always have someway to
communicate with you, the fans of the site, even if ffstories.com goes down!
As for the forum, I plan on getting the old
Forbidden Forum up and running again, too. That way we'll always have a
backup to the forum the way I know have a backup to the site.
Update! 7 December
2005
Well, the regular Forbidden
Fantasies website is back up and running! This is such good news I can
hardly think straight...!
So what does this mean for this little
asstr.org site? Well, I'm going to keep it around (and even get it totally
updated, too). Why? Well, ffstories.com is definitely the "real"
site. But I totally like the idea of having this little backup, you know? I
mean, if in the future you try and visit ffstories.com and you can't access
it, wouldn't it be nice to know you can check up on me and the site
somewhere else? :)
So yeah, definitely keep both sites bookmarked,
but remember that ffstories.com is my official "home". Okay? Okay!
:)
Update! 12 December
2005
Well, as you all should realize by now,
ffstories.com is gone once again, this time for good. The domain (as of this
writing!) still works, but it just redirects you to this site (www.asstr.org/~Forbidden_Fantasies/).
Well, this is where the site is going to stay from now on. No more moving
around! We have everything we need here, you know?
What happened to ffstories.com? In a nutshell,
the Webmaster has grown nervous about hosting the site himself because of
various legal reasons. It seems that the U.S. Department of Justice has been
cracking down on websites it deems "obscene"-- including one that
was just a collection of text-based stories. Now, don't get nervous!
Possessing obscene materials is not illegal. Distributing, it though,
technically is. If you've seen that movie The People vs. Larry Flint
then you know that proving obscenity is extremely difficult. The DOJ doesn't
care though... they're just trying to scare ppl into pulling down their
websites, etc.
Well, I'm not going away! We've got our old Forum
here, my stories, and most of the other site's contents, too. I'll be moving
everything else here soon as well. Sure, this site may not look as pretty as
ffstories.com did, but it's better than nothing, right?!?
Anyway...! I hope to see you all around,
commenting on my blog posts and participating in the
Forum. Until we meet again... bye!
