New Bedtime Story!

Believe it or not, "Bedtime Stories with Kelly 21" is done and posted for you all to read. Amazingly it's only been two months since the last one!

This one is strictly for the boys (sorry girls, no FF stuff this time). Plus, there's 50% less plot than usual. So if you're looking for more than just stroke, you'll have to wait for the next Walnut Grove story (which, yes, I'm working on...)

If you like the story, please drop me an email or use the comments link below. Your feedback is what keeps me going, so don't be shy!

Equal Time

In the interest of fairness, here's a link to 12 reasons why gay people should not be allowed to get married

On my iTunes

Okay, this iTunes Music Store stuff can be dangerous!

This morning I heard an interview with Nellie McKay on NPR's Morning Edition. Liked it, liked her music. So then I see that her album is available via the iTunes Music Store, and two clicks later I have the album.

Anyway, it's really good. mostly jazz & vocal pop, with some hip-hop mixed in.

Pro Marriage Support

Here's an online petition to show your support for marriage: MillionforMarriage.org

Not that online petitions ever do much good, but considering that it'll take but 30 seconds of your time, what's the harm?

Two articles on gay marriage

Two of the better 'mainstream' pieces I've read on the gay marriage issue are:

"Full Faith and Credulous" by Dahlia Lithwick in Slate. Lithwick argues that there's a middle ground in the debate, and this is why we have federalism in the first place.

Cynthia Tucker's Op-Ed piece, "Constitutional Ammendment Won't Save Marriage", points out the fact that not every religion, or even every Christian denomination, is opposed to gay marriage.

The real reason for the breakup

How could I have forgotten the really big news: Barbie & Ken are breaking up.

Some are speculating it's because Ken is gay. That's close to the truth, but not quite. As we discussed in this blog before, Barbie has secretly been a lesbian. So, with San Francisco now approving gay marriage, Barbie & Midge have driven up to SF from LA and are getting hitched, no longer having to live a lie.

And poor Ken is left holding his... Oh, wait, he doesn't have one :)

I'm Back

Sorry I disappeared there for a couple of weeks. Lots of stuff happened while I was gone, like:

Gay people getting married.

Somewhere in between all the ads for erectile dysfunction and farting horses, Janet Jackson bared a nipple.

And meanwhile, the Justice Department appears to be getting ready to wage a secret war against porn.

The Verdict on "The Book"

Well, I got 8 responses asking me to write more on "The Book" (though only 7 before the one week deadline). Not quite the 10 I was looking for.

This tells me that there is at least some interest in my continuing the story. So while I won't work on it immediately, neither will I consign it to be forever unfinished.

Thanks to those of you who took the time to comment about "The Book". Hopefully, you'll still like what I bring out next (probably another Walnut Grove story) and will bear with me until I do get around to writing more on "The Book".
