Comix for Chix #9: Small Favors

"Pretty Girls Make People Happy."

So begins the introduction to the first collection of Colleen Coover's Small Favors. Subtitled "girly porno comic collection," Small Favors just might be the perfect smut comic for anyone who likes lesbians.

The premise is thus: Annie spends waaay too much time masturbating (usually thinking about Yuriko, her sexy neighbor), so the Queen of her Conscience assigns a conscience fairy, Nibbil, to watch over her. But it turns out that Nibbil is even more perpetually horny than Annie, and thus the two enter into a fun loving sexual friendship.

Nibbil has two sizes, normal size and fairy size, which allows Coover to have a lot of fun showing how tiny lesbian sex would work, while still allowing for some normal-sized sex as well. Add in the occasional dildo, strap-on, light bondage and spanking, and there's something for everyone.

Coover's drawings are adorable--it's sometimes hard to believe that such nice girls are having such *nasty* sex!

It's very rare to find a porno comic with such positive, affirming portrayals of sexuality--and it's also hot hot hot! Small Favors is a treasure worth hunting out.

P.S. Colleen has a wonderful essay on "A Lady's Guide to Reading Comic Book Porn" on Sequential Tart that is worth reading.

Comix for Chix #8: Jane's World

Paige Braddock's daily comic strip, Jane's World, is a slice-of-life strip about a woman dealing with relationships and crappy jobs. So, besides being actually funny (something sorely lacking in most 'comic' strips in the papers these days), it's not that remarkable.

Except, that is, for the fact that Jane is a lesbian. Which until this point has meant that the mainstream press wouldn't touch it, and Jane's World has been restricted to online syndication. But now, word comes that Paige's strip has been picked up by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, starting next week.

The early (pre-syndication) strips can all be read at the Jane's World Website, and if you're so inclined they're collected in print too.

Story Recommendation

I've enjoyed the first two parts of Geek Goddess, a story by new author Trybble. It's not a completely polished narrative, but makes up for any technical lapses with enthusiasm for its subject matter. It also brings back fond memories of my college days--when I wasn't hooking up with girls, I had a soft spot for the geek boys :)

New Story!

Has it really been eight months since I last completed a story? Looks that way, but now I've finally got something new to share:

"Sandy's Story" is something of a departure for me. It's an erotic mind control story, something which has previously never much appealed to me. But somehow the idea for this story got lodged in my brain and I just had to get it out and written down! (hmmm...)

Alas, this is not one of the several stories that I've been poking along on for the past several months. From initial idea to completion it too me about 3 hours yesterday afternoon to write. Actually it was quite liberating--perhaps the novelty of writing something different caused whatever writing blocks I've been having to burst free?

Anyway, if you read it, let me know what you think, either via email or post in the comments.

Just thought I'd take a moment to share one of my all-time favorite posters, The Kiss by Tanya Chalkin.

Yet Another Reason to be a Lesbian

A recent research paper from the journal Contemporary Economic Policy finds that "nonheterosexual women earn 30% more than heterosexual women."
