More of "The Book"?
About two and a half years ago I wrote a couple of chapters of a story called "The Book". (It was part of a story game that I did with Katie McN.) The story is incomplete--I've always meant to get around to it someday, but that someday has never come.

Every so often I get an email from a reader asking me when I'm going to write more on "The Book." In fact, I've received two such messages in the past week. Given that my reader-to-email ratio is really really low, I think there might be some demand for me to continue the story.

So, here's the deal: If at least ten separate people post a comment here in the next week that they'd like to see more of "The Book", I'll make it so. (There are over 1000 hits on this blog every week, so 10 is not a huge number.)

That's the challenge: 10 of you say you want to read more of "The Book", and there will be more. Less than 10, and I'll go back to my usual slow pace on writing whatever strikes my fancy...

Sexy Cooking

I've recently discovered Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee on The Food Network, and I think I'm in love. Hostess Sandra Lee is so damn sexy in a domestic goddess sort of way. Watch the episode on "Cookies, Cakes and Cupcakes" and tell me she's not having little orgasms when she's describing the delectable treats she's making...

L is for...

The good news is that Showtime is finally debuting The L Word tonight. The bad news? We don't get Showtime :(

So it looks like we'll be waiting for the inevitable DVD. Too bad, because it would make for the perfect companion show for watching after Alias.

But, if you get Showtime, let me know what you think of it.

Plurals

In today's Straight Dope Staff Report, we get to learn What is the plural of "penis"? Not only that, but we also learn about other handy plurals, such as those for "clitoris," "dominatrix," and "cervix" (among others that are more mundane).

Never let it be said that we don't try to educate around here!

Interesting Reading

The Washington Post (of all places) has a very interesting article about the sexual preferences of teen girls: "Partway Gay? For Some Teen Girls, Sexual Preference Is A Shifting Concept." The reporter, Laura Sessions Stepp, discusses how a growing number of adolescent and college-age girls are basing their romantic attractions on who they feel comfortable with at the time, regardless of gender. She also discusses how the 'old guard' gay rights activists are uncomfortable, and sometimes hostile, to this notion, as it flies counter to the argument that homosexual behavior is ingrained.

I hope that everyone had a Happy Holiday and that your 2004 is off to a great start.

We've got snow. And cold. Perfect weather for staying in and reading and writing smut, don't you think?
