Honest to Christ, "Oh, good, it'll cheer Shannon up" was one of my thoughts upon learning our man had been elected. Not the first thought, but in the top ten.

Hoody-fuckin'-hoo, am I right? Forget what party you like or what candidate you wanted to win, I think it's pretty goddamned awesome to live in a country that's actually willing to elect a black man to the highest office in the land forty short years after they killed MLK.

Hehe. Considering Shannon was the first person to turn me on to noticing him, before he was picked by the Dems, him winning for her, has been one of my happy points if he made it.

Cheer up now Shannon. ^_^

Guys, let us NEVER forget this historical day! The day Shannon gets back to writing yummie perv-stories.
Oh, and that guy was elected to be the next President of the U.S. too...what was his name again?:)

"They?!?!"

The "country" did not kill MLK, some crazy jackass did.

So this country "changed" because Barack Hussein ran for President? Or perhaps this country wasn't as racist to begin with as liberals and other chronic victims think .

I say this as a Republican who voted for John McCain....

It's a great day for America.

I am proud as an American to say I saw the first African-American elected President.

I am proud for my country.

Happy for Shannon too :)

And to the President-Elect I say...

Congratulations...

now lead...

Sigh, it annoys me how hey think this settles MLKs dream. Didn't it go along the lines of, not judged by the color of his skin, but by his character. when 99% of blacks voting for him , lt shows still a way to go.

Welcome to the communist states of america, I no doubt will benifit from his policys, but in doing so i'm becoming a dependent of the state, rather then a producer of services.

IRC Ish, who is out of work starting today ( really i worked tuesday 6 to 5 went and voted. Today boss tells me no work and its going to be part time at most a month or so before the normal seasonal lay off period. Guess i just gotta hope thinsg start back up soon in the spring.)

This is definately one of those defining moments in US history that we can all be proud to have been a part of.

I do seem to recall that Shannon promised to do something if Obama became president :D

I quote from your Feb. post:
"if the 44th president of the United States ends up being Barack Obama, I will post a picture of myself to this blog."

I can't wait ;)

Yes Victory!
Now its time for us to step up to the plate and put the elbow to the grind stone.
Make this win work for everyone.

For those on the other side I say this: Time to put our pasts behind us and begin working together. Remain vigilant. Keep us on our toes.

To everyone:
Change happens when we all work hard to make the things we want a reality.
YES WE CAN!

You said that if Obama was elected, you'd post a picture of yourself. I hope you weren't making a promise you couldn't keep.

Heh...Shannon, your worrying in the previous post was about what I was like, minus the crazy lady, just before the election. Reminded me of this headline from Election night: "Failure to Blow Election Stuns Democrats."

I received an email with this news link today and I immediately thought of Shannon.

Hey, anonymous posters before me, listen to rkimmelerre and give Shannon a break! I can't wait to see her picture either, but she'll post it when she posts it! She's been focussing on this election for ages, and not only is it over, but it's over and turned out the way she wanted! Given that not that many things have done that for her lately, back off! She's probably still celebrating!;-)

As for obsessive supporters having empty lives, I only wish that there were politicians in other countries which provoked the same enthusiasm as Obama has done for a significant number of americans, both democrat and republican!

I can see it on the front page of the Onion now...

Shannon Picture Post Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are

...just kiddin'. I'd love to see her, but wouldn't blame her for a minute if she went back on the promise. It's the sane thing to do.

Good to see you still communicating. It seems like a lifetim eago I read your stories and liked them so much that I sent you a fan letter. You were a student then.

Obama won. I hope it makes a difference. I know it will make one GIANT difference no matter what happens to the economy. We will, FOR ONCE have a good, honest, trustworthy, compassionate president, and if our country is mired in hard times, that alone will be some comfort.

I am ready for things to get better. Too many people have had no hope or no good choices. Maybe you, "Shannon."

best wishes, and I mean that.
Though we'll never meet, I can only feel that if we did meet, I would like you still, and hope that you'll be happy
