Commentary

One of the things I liked about this story is the way losgud gets the reader into Daniel's head (both of them). As the narrator he knows he should see the glass as half full, and yet he cannot help but see it as half empty. The world around Daniel keeps on telling him that everything is fine and he should just play along. Daniel is not a boy, he knows better than to trust what others tell him. Another way of saying this would be to call him a cynic. The way in which this is revealed shows a lot of skill and insight on the part of the author. It is bitter on the one hand and it drips of sarcasm on the other.

This is a good story, but not a fast moving one. The author does not set any records in getting to the juicy parts. This is something that this reviewer likes. Sex before breakfast is fine, but I prefer to know a little about the characters before I get voluminous graphic descriptions of the various acts they are capable of. Daniel and Leah do not reinvent sex, nor do they manage every position under the sun; another plus in this reviewer's book. They do enjoy themselves.

If there was anything I did not like about this story it would have to be that the plot twists were not all that hard to figure out in advance. I was not hoping for "Lost in the Wild", but it would have been nice to see a couple more events thrown in. They would not necessarily have to have taken place in a state park.
