The Gorean Association got the Devotion Removal and deep conditioning technology from Darwin's delight, and eventually transformed the later into Core Training. They acquired permission to use the Research Brain Scanner from the legal committees.
In 2075 the legal committees replaced the Marriage Association with the Family Association. The Family association recognized a six stage relationship sequence: first date, dating, going steady, living together, married and married with children. Creating a Family Association became the social recognition that the couple (trio, whatever) was serious, it also gave the participants the protection of a legal structure that would continue through Married with Children and beyond.
Family Associations required that all participants have a control computer: either a control collar, wrist controllers or (later) an in-skull control computer. They effectively eliminated the True Love and Eternal Devotion declaration. As a consequence, the Premier Ponygirl Organization failed.
It also eliminated the Slaveowner's Consortium's Wife, Girlfriend and Kennel contracts as redundant, and added Chastity Rights as a separately cedable right.
Also in 2075, a complete redesign provided the first control collar that could be upgraded in place.
The Peaceforce cleaned up the notoriously unstable African Association. At the same time, the Gorean Hunting Preserve split the Games Enclave into a separate administrative district with its own legal structure.
This set of legal changes shifted a number of things into lower levels of the rights tree. It eliminated the Limited Unrestricted Use contract as redundant. It also required that all control collars and wrist controllers have an external management service. This was already fairly common practice.
In 2085 it finally became possible to upgrade older versions of the control collar in place.
In 2085 the Gorean Association got the in-skull control computer from Darwin's Delight. They gained permission from the legal committees to use it internally, and began to use it instead of the Research Brain Scanner for both Devotion Removal and Core Training.
