Some frightening statistics:
• By midnight today more than four children will have DIED from being abused.
  – One will be a baby less than a year old.
  – Two will have yet to celebrate their fifth birthdays.
• Worldwide 2,700 children will be physically and sexually abused today.
• Approximately one of four women in North America were molested in childhood.
• Approximately one of seven males have been sexually molested before the age of 18.

In an age where we don't know if governments will collapse or exert totalitarian control, nor whether they will be controlled by The People or The Church, anything becomes possible. Jeremy discovers that tolerance of differences has narrowed in his present time, but not knowing anything different, he accepts that perhaps he deserves his fate.
