SUMMARY: When they first meet, Dan is 38-years-old, happily married, and has three children. Chrissy is eighteen and a senior in high school at the time. Over the next few years he risks quite a bit to spend a good deal of time with her. COMMENTARY: This is not a short story, but it is a very nicely constructed one. The focus is as much on how torn Dan is between his affair with Chrissy and his marriage, as it is on the sex in his relationship with her. While the story has a somewhat repetitive feel to it, Dan's fear and guilt help to keep it fresh. He never seems to be completely at ease with himself. Chrissy does not get as much as attention as Dan does, but the author still does a nice job of fleshing her out, to a lesser degree. She is more than just a body. Some of you may be somewhat turned off by the "older male- younger female" relationship. I recommend that you at least give this story try. I think that it is worth it. OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS: 9.0 (out of 10)
