I logged in to add my latest story to
this site and realized it had been over a year since I'd published anything new.
It's amazing how time flies.
Two things inspired this latest tale.
The first was my wife pointing out that I had been talking a lot of
"talk" about writing (newsgroups, chat boards, 'real life' writer's groups,
etc.), but not doing much of it myself. She was right. What's most interesting
is that while I was busy handing out amateur literary advice to fellow hobbyists, I was
ignoring the most important element for any author aspiring to improve: writing,
writing, and more writing.
The opportunity to mend my wrongful
ways came in the form of a writing contest on the Erotic Stories site, an archive where a number of my tales are
published. These contests involve writing a story around a collection of
'criteria', which in this case included the following:
Characters Max and Kelly (either sex),
a maple tree, a Ford Mustang, creation of a song or a story, final manuscript less than
12,000 words.
Not much to go on, but ripe with
possibilities. I played with a few ideas and drifted towards a romantic theme, not
my first choice in popular reading, but something I've explored before with my story Encore!
The result is Heaven Sent,
a story that I'm proud to say is the winner of the Erotic Stories Challenge Number 4.
I've found that romantic erotic stories
appeal to a smaller reading audience, but I've also been told by a number of people that
this effort is my best work yet.
I hope you'll take a look and let me know what you think.

Josh Ambrose has led a life that many people can only
dream of -- one rich in fame, fortune, and public adulation.
Even with all of his
success, his life is still lacking without his first true love at his side. On a
trip home for Christmas he meets up with the woman who stole his heart some seventeen
years before.
But her life has changed as
much as his has. Can he stand to let her go a second time?
A sappy story based on the
song 'Auld Ang Sine' by Dan Fogleberg. This is a must read for you romantics out there. |
