What makes this site different?
| My stories are not like most you'll see
on the net. First of all, they're longer than average. That additional
length is used to better define the characters and the overall story. That
also means that significant lapses can occur where sex isn't involved. Real life is
a lot like that too and, for me, the best fiction is the fiction that feels
like real life. I've actually had one reader write to me saying something like "Good job . . . well written . . . but too much storyline for me. Just an opinion." I appreciate that reader's honesty, as well as his / her feedback. However, storyline, and lots of it, are very much part of my approach to writing and that includes erotica. Essentially I write what I would like to read with the hope that others will like to read it also. Are you one of those people tired of reading bad porn scripts? If so, give my stories a try and, either way, let me know what you think. I enjoy the criticisms as much as the praise, provided it's constructive and allows me to grow. |

Who is SlowHand?
| I'm sure people wonder what type of man (yes, I'm male) writes Internet erotica as a hobby. Probably not who you you'd think . . .I don't have a literary background, beyond the basic English classes served up as part of an average, undergraduate business degree. I'm also reasonably new to fiction, both in reading and as a wannabe author. Until a few years ago, the closest I came to crafting a story was in the seventh grade when an English teacher asked if I'd received help in writing a Halloween horror tale I had submitted. She seemed impressed with what I'd produced (I actually 'crammed' that assignment at the last minute) and pulled some strings to have it published in the school newspaper. She also recommended that I write something new for an upcoming contest. I took her advice and the result was a winning entry. Unfortunately, the grand prize--a fountain pen--wasn't exactly inspirational and I didn't attempt fiction again until I'd reached my late thirties. I now make my real living in the corporate jungle as an unassuming, boring, executive type. I'm sure most of my friends, co-workers, and relatives would be shocked to discover what lurks in my imagination and how it takes shape in the stories that I present here. I confess to taking pride in that irony. Other personal stuff? I've totally destroyed the divorce statistics by staying in the same relationship for twenty years and I'm a sickeningly proud father. My other hobbies include insatiable reading (another latent tendency) and bad golf. All in all, an average guy. That is, an average guy with an admittedly weird hobby. |
