THE SPOTLIGHT: MARCH 20, 2003
I read a few stories over the past week but the two
that I have chosen to write about this week are
DotComBimbo by DrSpin and The Athletic Club by
eroslit. They both involve infidelity. In the latter
case it is a woman cheating on her husband with
another woman. In former it is a man sleeping with his
friend's wife. I am loathe to say one is better than
the other. Apples and orgasms.
The character and plot developments in DotComBimbo
make it seem a little less run of the mill than The Athletic Club. Probably because Fran's forthrightness
surprises Gary and the author does a good job of
conveying the shock that he experiences. Possibly
because Linda gets beyond the road block she
encounters, whereas the ending to DotComBimbo leaves
at least one issue unresolved.
I enjoyed both stories for what they have to offer.
While DrSpin's story offers a little more in the way
of character development, it doesn't take quite as
long for he and Fran to jump in the sack together.
Which is not to say that he doesn't have second
thoughts, he does. The main character in eroslit's
story, Linda, has a slightly different dilemma. She
doesn't seem to have a problem cheating on her
husband, but she has never been with a woman before
and is worried about ruining a budding friendship.
