COMMENTARY: Sometimes the title of a story describes
the story. Sometimes it is the name of one of the main
characters, or the setting. In this case the title
refers to the object which brings Belinda and Alan
together. It is not the setting of their rolls in the
hay.
What is there specifically about this story that makes
me want to recommend it? Well, to be perfectly honest,
it doesn't stand out for any particular reason that I
can think of. It just liked it. I do like stories
about older women and younger men. This one seemed
original enough, but I've read stories similar to this
one before. Young man helps older woman. Older woman
seeks to repay young man. They end up in bed together.
There is a subplot in this case that involves Alan's
mother and another young man, but this other young man
never makes an appearance and his mother's appearances
are very brief.
This is just a well written and well told story. I
like how the author uses dialogue to bring out the
characters' personalities. I also like the fact that
between Belinda and Alan there is a mutual attraction
but there is also a mutual fear of rejection.
