COMMENTARY:
This story is a bit more cerebral than most of the erotica you will find on the internet. The author does not cut to the chase too quickly. He has paced the story quite nicely, so far. In particular the main character impresses me. He seems realistic. He is torn between lust and reason. What man isn't? Lust rules his actions, for the most part, but does not satisfy his intellectual curiosity. Mrs. Reid and her husband don't seem quite as realistic as Andy, but they aren't at the center of this story. They play their roles quite nicely.
The focus of the story is Andy and his inner conflict. There are questions that Andy contemplates but can't seem to answer. Is it worth it do Mrs. Reid's dirty work for her, in return for sexual favors? What has his libido gotten him into? Why can't he just tell her no?
Through the first four chapters Andy doesn't find any answers, just more questions. He does experience a certain amount of sexual satisfaction, thanks to the devious couple next door, but the rewards he receives always seem to pale in comparison to the tasks. Mrs. Reid teases him, satisfies him temporarily, but never gives him exactly what he wants. She always leaves him panting for more. |
