NOTE: At the time that this spotlight was written there were only six chapters. Since that time the author has written at least one more chapter.

SUMMARY: Brian looks after Catey while his aunt, her adopted mother, is serving overseas. Despite knowing better, he allows their relationship to take a turn that could land him in jail.

COMMENTARY: This story has a number of typographical errors, but I still think that it is well written. The characters aren't too deep, but they are realistic enough. I enjoyed watching them interact. Their relationship is based upon more than just a desire to fuck. Catey is genuinely fond of Brian and Brian feels responsible for Catey.

There are leaps made in this story that some people may have trouble accepting. When I first read it, I felt like there probably should have been more foreplay before Brian and Catey have sex for the first time. In general, the author does not give too many details. The ones he chooses to include describe what his characters are feeling as well as what they are doing.

I have to admit that I do feel a bit embarrassed and/or guilty for enjoying this story. Brian is in his mid-twenties and Catey has only just turned thirteen when it begins. There was a time when I would have refused to read it because of Catey's age. I am more open-minded now, although I still don't read or enjoy very many stories that involve older men and thirteen- or fourteen-year-old girls.

I think that this story should appeal to reader's of both sexes. People who are turned off or repulsed by tales of sex between older men and underage girls should probably not read it.
