Prologue

Joshua and Andy

Chapter 4
Punishment

During the last hour Andy had had to tell his story of what happened to a police officer over and over again. Andy was chained with his arms behind his back – the usual procedure during an investigation, the officer had told him. Andy could not tell by the officer's face whether he believed him or not, his face was absolutely impenetrable.

"OK, little slave, I've listened to your story. Our C.S.I. team is in place, and they will find out what really happened. If you've told me the truth, you have nothing to worry about. However, if you've lied to me, you know what will happen. Do you understand?"

"That's good! I don't want to worry you now, Joshua, but there is one more thing. Your slave swore to me, that he had no idea why and how Hugh owes you money. That was the only part of the story, where he lied to me, believe me, I know. So please tell me everything about Hugh's debt. The truth will come out anyway, and I don't want to have to interrogate so faithful a slave."
