The Kiss - My Commentary

There are spoilers in here, so read the story first!

First of all, I wrote this with Desdmona, another fine author of erotic stories on the net. You can find her stories on the web at Tell Me A Story, Desdmona. If you liked The Kiss, you're sure to like Desdmona's other stories, too!

I started writing this story a year earlier, hoping to have it done for Halloween. Unfortunately, I got busy before October 31 rolled around and I wasn't able to finish it. The story languished on my harddrive for nearly a year.

I resurrected it and started trying to flesh out the Caroline character a little more, but I was very unsatisfied with the results. The voice didn't seem believable, I didn't like the supernatural scenes, and I was at a loss for where to go next.

So I asked my Desdmona to give me a hand. In case none of you know, Desdmona and I are sort of a thing. Well, actually, we're more than just sort of a thing. Let's say we're really tight, and getting tighter all the time!

And I asked Desdmona to help me out. I think she was a little unsure of herself at first. She didn't know if she could write in my style, and she was afraid she'd mess up what I'd written so far. But she's a trooper! She dived into it, made some very nice changes, added some scenes, fleshed out some other scenes that weren't working.

We talked a lot about the psychology of the Caroline character. What would she do, how should she react? Where did her views of life come from? She's actually a deeper character than we reveal in this story, but hey, we didn't want to dump a novel on you!

The basic premise is that Caroline is drifting through life, trying to find pleasure in promiscuous sex, even though promiscuity can't give her what she really wants. This leaves her vulneerable to The Voice, who promises her what she needs.

The moral of the story is, of course, don't fuck ghosts!
