One day the wealthy Nizam of Hyderabad arrived, along with his Lashkar General and his retinue. Now, the Lashkars of the Deccani Sultanates and Nizamates were traditionally dominated by Dravidian Shudras, who were prized on account of their reputation for physical strength. The General was, like most of the Deccan Lashkaris, of Dravidian Shudra stock. A massively muscled Kala Telinga (black Telugu) warrior, the very sight of him intimidated most of the Delhvi courtiers. The Shahanshah decided to entertain the Nizam himself, and was searching amongst the courtiers to select one who would entertain the Telinga General. At this the Brahmin Wazir, Birbal, then advised the Khaleefa not to let the Brahmin courtiers entertain the Telinga, on account of the caste restrictions of Manu Varna-Ashrama-Dharma in the Brahmanical religion. Akbar then inquired whether the Rajput courtiers, having hailed in ancient times from the Iran of the Sassanids, could entertain the Telinga or not. The Brahmin Wazir then informed the Shahanshah that the caste restrictions of the Rajput Saura (Sun-worship) religion also forbade Rajputs from entertaining Shudras. Zahid heard Birbal advise Akbar to "let Zahid entertain the Nizam's body-guard". Then Zahid heard the Brahmin Wazir, who hailed from Kashmir, lower his voice and whisper, "And besides, we all know how *divani* (crazy) those Punjabi women are for those Kalloo Shudra Lunds (blackie Shudra penises)". Both laughed heartily while Zahid felt himself blush. "Have your Bibi dressed nicely and all ready and garm (hot) for me," the Telinga told Zahid.
