Chapter 2
"Do you really expect this to work?" Leah asked staring into the plastic cup.
"Guaranfuckingteed," Kallie assured her friend, taking the cup of liquid from her and placing it on their dorm refrigerator. "This shit is the real deal."
"Shouldn't we try it out first, though?" Leah shrugged her shoulders and brushed back her short blonde hair.
"Oh, Leah, don't tell me you're turning chicken on me," the redhead laughed in her mocking tone that had humiliated a hundred boys back in high school.
"No," Leah said defensively, pushing her B-cup breasts out in an effort to put herself on the same level as her taller, more-developed friend. "I just don't want to waste my time on some watered down Pepsi your friend in "pharmaceuticals" told you was a mind control drug." "It's not a mind-control drug, Leah. It's...Oh never mind. I'm tired of trying to explain this to a blonde even if you are a bottle blonde. Let's get someone in here and I'll prove it."
"I am too a natural blonde," Leah said quietly stroking her hair but Kallie had already opened the door to the hallway.
"Janie!" Kallie shouted, flipping her long curly hair back with a toss of her head.
Janie paused with her key in her dorm room door. "What?" she asked warily.
"Oh, don't be that way. What's past is past. We need your help with some homework. You'd really be doing us a favor and maybe
we could return it somehow."
"Lemme put my stuff away first," Janie said and closed the door behind her. Oh shit, what am I going to do, she thought to herself.
Well, maybe they do want to be friends. I have to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's only right. People have to be given a second
chance sometimes. Janie repeated several other reassuring platitudes as she knocked on their dorm room door.
