That was an unexpectedly enjoyable New Year's Eve and the week that followed, even though I missed Spiky at times. I had plenty of time to myself and I loved it. I read a book in my room or meditated. I went for a walk around the place and through the woods. The snow was up to my knees and it was fun to walk through it. I would return from a walk all cold and enjoy a hot bath. Just perfect. The place where we stayed was a lodge with rooms and looked like a small hotel. There was a log fire in the main hall where people gathered and talked. If only Spiky was with me, it would be more exciting but less peaceful. In the end I enjoyed the change of pace and I finally had some time for myself. I've met new people and we went hiking together. One of them was a girl named Denise. She is only a little younger than me and we always had something to talk about while hiking. She asked me for my number so I hope she'll call me one day.
The New Year's Eve wasn't very eventful which made me all the more happier. There was music and dancing but nothing like noisy parties I've been to before. Denise and I drank a bottle of Champagne and shared the stories of our ex-girlfriends. She said how she had a crush on her teacher when she was in high school but nothing happened. I tried to avoid talking about Spiky but in the end I said I'm friends with a 14-year-old girl. I shouldn't have said that because she joked for the rest of the night how I like teen girls. Champagne that we've been drinking made it only funnier and we both laughed and agreed that teen girls have the sexiest bodies. I don't know how I found my room that night. It was around three in the morning when I went to bed and I slept until noon.
The next day I met with Deni and we went out snow sledding. We kept turning over every time which made us laugh like little kids. We didn't stay out too long because it was getting cold and we went back inside. I guess I should describe Deni. She's 29, honey hair, pretty face, gorgeous lips and brown eyes. She has a cute teddy bear tattoo on her tummy. I wonder why she has it. Maybe I'll ask her one day. It looks like something that would attract little girls. She works as a music teacher in a high school so she probably meets her share of pretty girls.
I forgot to call Spiky and wish her happy New Year. Ouch! I called her the next day instead. I thought she would be grumpy but she forgot about it too. Lucky me! She said the party was great and they all danced and played games and ate lots of lollies and pizza. I think it's about time she gets back to her soccer training routine.
I came home on Wednesday night, tired and cold. I wish I had someone to welcome me but everything was empty and depressing when I arrived. So much for a relaxing week. I'm back into a bleak reality.
