It took me a few days before I have finally settled back to my old routine after we returned last weekend. It was a big trip and we spent a long time away from home but it was all worth it because we had a good time camping.
I don't know if I could write everything we did because it would take me hours and maybe days to tell you all about it so I'll try to keep it short. It all began with a call from one of my friends who asked me if I would like to come with her and her friend camping. They were planning to rent a camper van, the van which has beds and kitchen and bathroom on board so it looks like a little home on wheels. They said it could hold four people and they wanted to split the cost so it wasn't too expensive. I told my friend I would like to go only if Nikki comes with me and she said it would be really nice if I took her with us but I was afraid Nikki's parents won't let her go away for anything longer than a week. Then the next day I talked to Nikki's mom and it took me and Nikki some convincing before they let her come with us. We planned the trip to last six weeks or more so it was hard to give them any exact time when we'd return but I promised them we'd keep in touch and call them whenever we can.
The next few days we spent packing up. We already planned the trip and knew where we would go. We were to go around [...] then down to [...] and then cross to [...] and back to [...] and from there to [...] again. Nikki was excited about the trip and I think we all were. My two friends, who are girlfriends, have rented the van a day before and when they came to pick us up, Nikki and me were surprised to see how nice it was inside. It looked like a little house. They also had a tent so we could sleep outside as well but the tent was only small one for two persons to fit inside.
First week we traveled around [...]. We traveled mostly along the coast and tried to stay out of cities. We only went to town if we needed to buy food but mostly we camped along the beaches until we crossed into [...]. The weather was nice and hot all the time so sometimes Nikki and I would spend the night outside in the tent where we could get some privacy and sometimes my friends would do the same.
I never came out to my friends about me and Nikki but I think it was easy to notice because we were very close all the time and they even made jokes how we are girlfriends to which Nikki and I only laughed. When we were still in [...], we once went swimming in the nude. It was a little beach which was away from any populated places so we stayed there for two days because it was a really nice place for camping. We passed some nudist camps along the way but we never stayed in them longer than a day because we wanted to keep moving and see as much as we could.
[...] was a little boring because they have lots of highways which are not interesting for traveling but [...] was different. I saw lots of cute girls there and nice little villages but not many places where we could swim until we came up to their coast. Sometimes when we found a camping ground, Nikki and I would take our bikes and go cycling around. We met interesting people that way and saw places which we would miss by driving in the van. We were cycling in [...] once when we came across a group of children who were playing along the trail and they wanted to talk to us but we couldn't understand them. But it was fun and Nikki tried to understand them and she played with them for a while before we had to head back because it was getting late. Another time we thought we had found a quiet little spot on the cliff overlooking a river. I held Nikki close and we kissed. It was just perfect moment and I was hoping we could stay there forever but then I heard some voices behind us and saw a couple of local kids running away. I don't know if they saw us or not but I suggested to Nikki we should look for a new kissing spot.
We crossed from [...] to [...] with a ferry. This wasn't very fun because the sea was rough and Nikki and I got really sea sick and we couldn't wait to get across to [...]. I forgot to take any medicine for sea sickness because it didn't occur to me we would get sick and once on the ferry it was too late. I was feeling sorry for Nikki because she was almost crying. We were both counting minutes for the ferry to arrive. It was also nighttime and we didn't get any sleep so we were very tired the next day and day after that but after that we recovered and enjoyed the trip again. In [...] we traveled along the south coast from east to west and then took another ferry ride across to [...]. By the time we arived back to [...] we were all little tired of living on the road. Nikki's mom and dad say she's grown up a lot since we left. She's got a nice tan now and her hair is short because she wanted to cut it. Not really short but down to her shoulders.
I spoke to Nikki yesterday and she's getting ready for the new school year. We'll see each other next week. I took lots of pictures of us and we'll put them in a photo album together.
I liked our trip but I wish we had more time to ourselves. But even so, it was very good and we saw different places and this was the longest time yet that Nikki and me were together. I know this diary entry is a little short but we mostly traveled around which is not very interesting. The little fun we had was when we slept in the tent. I could write about it next time :)
