I've been quite busy and stressed lately. It's always the same around this time of the year. I work until late and then I have other things to do like pay bills or clean our home or shop for Christmas presents. Actually shopping for presents should be fun but it's always busy in shops and there are too many people to enjoy it. I already bought presents for Nikki. I bought her the new Harry Potter book and some cute things to wear. I haven't bought anything for Ella yet or anyone else.
Yesterday was a fun day at work because I had an opportunity to make friends with one of the girls who are acting in the Christmas play. Her name is Line but it's pronounced Lyne and she is 11 years old just like Nikki. She was curious about what we were doing so I gave her a little tour around the theater and then I took her for a drink and a cake to our bistro and we talked about everything until she had to leave. She is really smart little girl. I loved talking with her. We were talking about her school and her acting. She acted in some quite serious plays since she was six and she's very good too. She made pretend to be angry and sad and then she laughed and it looked so real. I wouldn't have guessed she was acting at all. It was amazing. She said she lives with her dad and grandmother and that her mom died when she was a baby. It made me feel sad and sorry for her. I told her I was a good friend with another little girl who is her age. Then she told me how she would like to become an actress one day or maybe a singer and I told her she probably will because she's good at it and because she's pretty. She blushed and smiled when I said she's pretty. She has a cute face and short blonde hair. Then one person who looks after the girls came for her and we had to part. I kissed her cheek before she left and she waved goodbye to me. I felt really sad that she had to leave but I was happy too for having a chance to meet such sweet little girl. This has never happened to me at work before. I guess I was really, really lucky. I think I'll see her again because she will be rehearsing with other girls every day until the play starts just before Christmas.
This weekend Ella and I will take Nikki to ice skating ring for some fun time because we all need a little break. Ella is really good at ice skating. She's been practicing it for a long time and Nikki knows how to skate too. I haven't done it for a long time but I used to like it when I was a little girl. I hope I don't fall and break a bone.
