"The Folly of Eros" by Souvie
This is Souvie's entry in Shon Richards' "Reinventing Valentine's Day" contest. It's a short, but delightful, story about a woman cynical about love and Valentine's Day in particular and what happens to her when she's left alone.

Here's Virago's contest entry. For those of you familiar with her usual stories, this one may seem something of a departure. Maybe it's because of her impending motherhood. :)

"Valentine's Day" by Hecate
Hecate was the first author with an entry for the "Reinventing Valentine's Day" contest and her story certainly does that. I compared it to something by Edgar Allan Poe or Saki (H.H. Munro), others compared it to Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery"--read it and you'll see why.
