Chapter 4

Everyone stared at me when I clapped for him and said he did good even though I didn't know what the reading meant. They had me keep throwing it slower until it finally registered at eight hundred and something [1300 km/h].

Then after more standing around and being bored and a water and snack break, they finally told me I was going to do something fun. They managed to get me so worked up and excited that when they actually told me I was going to race an F-22, I vowed I'd beat it no matter what. They tried to give me goggles to keep the wind out of my eyes but I told them that I pushed the air out in front of me so I didn't feel like I was moving at all because there was no wind. They tried to make it seem fun calling it a race but I found out later the idea was for the F-22 to fly next to me and match my top speed since the F-22 had a speedometer. Then we waited and waited and blah blah blah and they finally gave me a little machine to put on my wrist that they called a GPS. They said they set it so it would tell me what direction the base was and said only to fly for about a minute. I took off again at top speed but this time out of a runway with no tents around it. It still took me a couple minutes to find my way back.

"How did I do?" I asked the person that took the GPS thingy off my arm.

He looked at it and replied, "You got about triple the top speed of the F-22."

I informed them of that so they had me do just one more test. They strapped a different GPS thingy on my wrist then gave me a big, round, hollow sounding metal shell thingy to hold. Then they told me to fly as fast as I could to exactly where the dot on the display of the wrist machine was and drop the "package" on the house that was there. After assuring me it was only a test house and that nobody lived in it, and showing me a picture of it, I took off and easily followed the dot. The screen on this thing was much bigger than the other one. When I got close enough to see the house I used my powers to whip the shell at the house and I hit it square on. Then I pressed the button they told me to and followed the screen back to the new dot which was the base.

When I got back they said I could go take a long break but they wanted me to try the same thing when it was completely dark out.

Lisa only had two plates and I did try one of everything that looked good at least. Then I went back and got more of what I liked the most. We sat in a corner that wasn't very busy so nobody noticed just how much I ate.

On the way back to the hotel I thought about everything.
