A fictional account of the morning show feud between NBC
Today Show host Katie Couric and ABC Good Morning
America host Lisa McRee, and describes how Katie Couric
gets hold of a mind control chip to try to disgrace and
eliminate the competition.

The fight for ratings in the network morning show race
was running hot and heavy. NBC Today Show host Katie
Couric was on the #1 rated morning show, however her #2
ranked competitor, Lisa McRee of Good Morning America
had been recently gaining ground. ABC network management
had recently upped the quality of Lisa McRee's wardrobe
and she was on her way in the race to catch Katie
Couric's #1 ranked status.
Katie Couric was out at a restaurant in New York City
one Tuesday evening around 5 P.M. She usually ate early
to avoid being spotted by fans. She got tired of saying
hi to every single fan. She enjoyed being #1, but
sometimes she just wanted to be left alone.
Suddenly while sitting and eating the veal cutlet she
had ordered, Katie noticed a strange man sitting in the
corner of the restaurant staring at her. This wasn't a
usual fan. This man had a fierce expression on his face,
and looked very intense. She felt like this man was
probing her for something.
She noticed the man wave his finger toward her. He
wanted her to come over and talk to him! This was
getting weird. She found herself frightened, and yet
some strange almost mystical type force was compelling
her to go talk to him.
She looked around the restaurant to see if anyone was
noticing her. She didn't want anyone from the tabloids
to be in this restaurant. It might lead to the printing
of an article that said something like: "Today Show host
Katie Couric converses with bizarre man in a New York
City restaurant."
She didn't want her reputation to be hurt by doing such
a thing. However, she saw that there were only 5 other
people in the restaurant. Most of these people were
elderly individuals who hadn't even noticed that Katie
Couric was even in the restaurant.
She walked over to the strange man who was somehow
beckoning her. She sat down next to him.
"Hello", he says.
Katie says, "Who are you, and what do you want from me?"
He begins telling her, "Katie, I know all about the
ratings battle that your show is in with Good Morning
America, and I have something that I think might help
you."
"What?" Katie says.
The man says, "Katie, I recently lost my job in the
Federal Government secret agencies task force. You would
be amazed at all the vital and groundbreaking areas that
we worked on, and as a matter of fact you will be amazed
if you..." He stopped.
"If I what?" Katie says.
He says, "If you decide to purchase some of my special
government technology."
Katie was confused, so she asks him, "What kind of
government technology do you think I would like?"
(He laughs a little), and says, "Katie, I have just the
thing that you would like."
Katie is a little angry, and says, "For something that I
need so much, you sure are beating around the bush in
telling me."
"Oh, I'm sorry", he says. The man sped up the pace of
his story and proceeded to tell Katie Couric that if she
paid him $10,000 he would hand her a top of the line
mind control computer chip. A chip that when implanted
in someone, could completely control their thoughts and
actions.
Katie thought to herself (God I am an idiot... why am I
talking to this man? This guy must be a released mental
patient. Maybe he is one of the schizophrenics released
during the Reagan years). Strangely however, Katie found
herself wanting to believe the man's story.
She says to him, "Okay I'll show up tomorrow at this
same restaurant at the same time, and we'll make the
deal."
The man asks her a few questions about what kind of chip
she wanted. He had different chips that made people
think and behave in different ways. She describes to him
the exact type of mind control chip that she wants, and
he told her that he had plenty of the variety of chip
that she had requested, and that the only thing that was
complicated was how to implant it.
He then told her that if she gave him another $2,000,
which would up the total to $12,000, he would implant it
himself. Having been in the F.B.I., C.I.A., and nearly
every other secret agency in his 30 years working for
the Federal Government, he had security passes that
could get him into any building in the nation.
Katie agreed to give him another $2,000. The total was
now $12,000, but what was $12,000 to a woman who made as
much money as Katie Couric? The man shook her hand and
said that he would be in the restaurant again tomorrow,
and if she had the money with her, he would implant the
chip for her in whatever person she wanted it put in.
After the man left, Katie walked back over to where she
had been sitting, and felt very weird. That night Katie
went to the bank and withdrew enough money to pay the
guy. She had decided that she would was so skeptical of
his so-called "chip" that she wanted to re-do their
agreement. She wanted to pay him in payments of $200 at
a time based on how well the chip worked...IF IT WORKED
AT ALL!
The next day she met the man again at the same previous
time, and at the same restaurant and he agreed to change
their deal. He told her that he could understand how she
might be suspicious of a guy offering a mind control
computer chip for $10,000. Katie told him that she
wanted him to implant the chip himself, and paid him the
extra $2,000 installation fee.
The man says, "Okay, now that we've gotten the money
issue settled, tell me who the victim of this mind
control chip will be.
Katie says, "I want you to the plant the mind control
chip that I asked for, in Good Morning America host Lisa
McRee."
(The man laughs) "I knew you would pick her", he says.
The man says that he will do it, and will use one of his
Federal Government security passes to get into the ABC
building tomorrow morning after 5:30 A.M. Lisa McRee
would be in her dressing room at around 6 A.M. preparing
for Thursday's show. Katie gave the man his first
payment of $200.
Katie told the man that they would met each other in the
same restaurant every two weeks on Tuesday nights, and
she would give him more payments. The man wrote it down
in his date book, and told her that he hoped she enjoyed
his product. The man left the restaurant.
The next day the man wakes up early. He grabs several of
his official Federal Government badges to bring with
him. He would so overwhelm the security at ABC with his
credentials; they would quickly let him in. He is
approached by security at the front desk, and is
surprised at how quickly he is let in. He thought that
this was due to the Oklahoma City Bombing.
People just kind of let Federal Government security
forces go wherever they want, hoping that the security
forces would stop terrorism. Perhaps ABC workers
expected that one day they would be the target of a bomb
plot, and therefore they would not want to impede the
noble work of a security worker who might "snuff out" a
terrorist or remove a bomb planted in the building.
Soon the man finds himself on the set of Good Morning
America. Lisa McRee is in her dressing room putting her
clothes on. It is around 6 A.M. The man knocks on her
dressing room door.
"Mrs. McRee, this is F.B.I. agent Caswell, I'm here to
talk to you about something," he says.
Lisa McRee was like "Huh?" (F.B.I.? I'm Lisa McRee. I'm
a perky morning show gal that everybody wants to hug).
Lisa zips up her skirt and walks to open the door. The
man closes the door behind him once he is in the room.
"Mrs. McRee, sit down on the couch, I need to talk to
you about something," he says. The two of them are
sitting on the couch talking, and suddenly the man grabs
a pillow that is on the couch, and muffles Lisa's mouth.
He pulls out a syringe, which is another technique
involved in the implanting of mind control chips into
people.
He uses the syringe to inject a special drug that puts
the individual into a 2-minute coma. He uses the coma
time to quietly implant the mind control chip into the
individual's brain. The chip is wrapped in a waxy human
tissue like substance that prevents the victim from
bleeding.
He has completed this process, and now the mind control
chip has been inserted into Lisa McRee's brain. He lets
Lisa's limp body fall back easily onto the couch and he
quickly leaves the room. He has no difficulty slipping
undetected out of the building.
Lisa McRee awakes and has no memory of what has
occurred. She hurries onto the set. Good Morning America
begins at 7 A.M. The first signs of the mind control
chip's success begin to show up at around 7:30 A.M. Lisa
mentions that actor Mel Gibson is going to be on the
show in the next hour.
Her co-host Kevin Newman asks Lisa, "You like Mel,
right?"
Lisa says, "Yeah I like Mel, I'd like to get in bed with
him." (The studio staff breaks into loud laughter) Co-
host Kevin Newman looks at Lisa and is shocked that she
would talk this way on national television. She is a
journalist, and she is behaving inappropriately.
Everything goes okay for the next hour or so.
It is now 8:40 and Lisa McRee is getting ready to
interview today's guest, actor Mel Gibson, but first
there is a commercial break. Lisa is sitting across from
Mel waiting for the commercial break to end, and she
exchanges greetings with him and she says, "Mel, my
husband is a Hollywood Producer, and I live in New York
City hosting Good Morning America. I only get to see my
husband on weekends. On weekends I fly to Los Angeles
and me and my husband have sex all weekend."
Mel looks at Lisa like she is really strange for telling
him all this.
Lisa continues talking to him, "Mel, I get so horny

waiting for the interview to begin so that he can get

The interview ends, and Mel Gibson attempts to get away
from her as quickly as possible.
Lisa says to him as he is walking away, "Mel, do you
want my address?"
Mel angrily nods his head (NO).
Lisa says, "That sucks, I wanted to get fucked by you
tonight."
Soon it is 9 A.M. and the show is over for the day. A
few of the studio people walk over to Lisa and tell her
how funny she was on Today's show. Her co-host Kevin
Newman pulls her aside and asks, "Lisa, are you going to
be doing this on a regular basis?"

would start working better in the coming weeks.
Katie Couric had bought the "Id releasing chip" from the
former Federal Government employee. The "Id releasing
chip" freed humans of all their sexual inhibitions and
