Euphamisms: Financial Management

her financial adviser for an examination of her 
assets. (MF, prost, role-play)

PART 4: Financial Management 

Jim greeted her warmly when she came into his office. 
"Good to see you, Susan," he enthused. They engaged in 
a bit of small talk before getting down to business. 
"I'm happy to say your investments have been doing 
well. The value of the portfolio you have with my firm 
has risen 12% over the last month. That's a few points 
above the market average these days."

"Good to know." They spent about half-an-hour going 
over options and new investments that might pay off 
for her; then, they switched topics. 

"I'd like to give your personal assets a good going 
over," he smiled. "I think I can guarantee some short 
term gains."

"Going to inject some of your own capital into my 
portfolio?" she asked, as she started to display her 
assets.

"You read my mind. I've found it to be an excellent 
investment." Jim quickly prepared himself. He was 
always ready to invest, but he took his time and did 
so with due consideration for her needs and for proper 
investment safeguards. 

"This could take a while," he said. "Let's make 
ourselves comfortable on the couch." His private 
office featured a leather couch for making clients 
feel more comfortable. Her portfolio with him was 
small, but thanks to the way she paid her fees, he 
considered her one of his favorite clients.

He spent quite a while examining her assets carefully, 
offering praise to the way she maintained them both 
verbally and nonverbally before deciding to invest. He 
pushed her back on the couch, and spent a last long 
moment using his tongue before getting on top of her 
and pushing his favorite investment tool into her 
portfolio. The transaction lasted a good ten minutes 
before he succeeded in injecting new capital into the 
venture.

Susan sighed happily as the transaction proved short 
term gains for both of them. "I do enjoy our 
transactions, Jim." They untangled themselves and 
cleaned up. "Shall we have another 'financial checkup' 
next month?"

"Sounds perfect," he smiled. "Have my secretary put 
you down for the usual time."
