To say the least, it was a rather frustrating situation. In almost every way
the plan was working perfectly. Combining her computer skills with Moon
Kingdom technology, Amy had created the identity of Dr. Emily Waters, a noted
archaeologist with a long list of references.
Dr. Waters had managed to have a close look at the displays and backroom
archives of most of the major museums and private collectors in Tokyo. She
had even discovered several artifacts that had traces of the astral energies
the thieves seemed to be after.
Amy made careful analysises of these traces and the other Scouts were
assigned to keep careful watch over these locations. Yes, it was working
almost perfectly.
The problem was there was no sign of the thieves. Two weeks past and
there been no more incidents. Once on patrol Lita though she might have seen
a dark shape lurking outside the home of a collector, but it must have fled
on seeing her. It could have been a stray dog, or even just a shadow.
It didn't seem possible that such a capable enemy could have been scared
off so easily... In the meantime though, Amy was learning a lot and was
feeling a little guilty gratitude for having this opportunity. She was even
considering using her Emily Waters identity to publish a paper on her
discoveries.
Today she was following up a reference from the last collector she had
talked to. Ironically she was ending up back at the University to speak with
the reluctant Dr.Beddows. She was a little worried that Dr.Beddows might
recognize her, even in her adult disguise, but Luna had assured her that the
power of the Lunar Pen worked to prevent any such unmasking.
"We're honored," said Dr.Beddows, shaking her hand warmly. "That you're
able to include our little institution in your visit."
They stood the main room of the museum's small archaeological museum.
Around them were all the displays and glass cabinets Amy was very familiar
with. She was here though to have a look at what else Dr.Beddows had been
keeping secret in the back room.
"I'm glad to have the opportunity," 'Dr.Waters' said, freeing her hand.
She glanced around the displays.
Dr.Beddows dismissed the room with a gesture. "Nothing here to interest
you I'm sure, but we do have a few other, more... esoteric items for private
study by professionals such as yourself. If I may..."
   "Of course."
The professor indicated a side exit, placing a hand on the back of her
shoulder to led her towards it.
My, though Amy, he's certainly a lot friendly to me as an adult that as a
junior high school student... But I suppose that's not exactly a bad thing
for a man his age.
"Didn't you have a theft here recently," Amy asked as they walked past
the dusty shelves and cabinets of the storage room.
"I'm afraid so," said the professor frowning. "Terrible business, not at
all the sort of thing the University likes to have to worry about. I'm
concerned they may shut us down here rather than spend the money to provide
proper security."
   "That would be a shame."
"Indeed, I would hate to have to give up items such as... these..."
Dr. Beddows had walked ahead to a metal cabinet. He unlock and unbolted
in and took out a cloth covered tray. He set the tray down on a nearby work
table and pulled aside the cover.
"Amazing..." said Amy in honest reaction.
"Isn't it. We're rather proud of it... Those few on the staff who know we
have such a thing."
It was a single piece of brilliant crystal shaped with great care into a
female figure... A figure that could not be adequately described by the
word "voluptuous." In fact there wasn't much to her beyond enormous breasts
and expansive hips.
It was the type of figure often called a "venus," though Amy doubted Mina
would find the comparison flattering. She had never heard of one made
from crystal before.
"How old is this?" she asked Dr. Beddows.
The professor shrugged. "Ten thousand, twenty thousand... we aren't
exactly sure."
"Amazing," she said again. "May I..."
"Please, Dr.Waters. Examine it as closely as you. We've never been
exactly sure what to do with it. To be honest we've probably been a little
a greedy keeping it to ourselves, but we'd hate to loose it to a larger
institution."
Amy put her laptop on the desk and booted it up. The laptop was actually
the illusion covering her own compact computer and while she went through the
motions of making careful measurements of the artifacts and entering them in
a database, she was actually making a far more thorough scan of the item and
the energies it held.
And energy there was. The display graph on Amy's computer jumped into the
red; these were the strongest readings she had encountered so far in her
investigations. She had a lot more work to do before she could begin to
understand what this energy was. While it wasn't the same power that she
and the other Sailor Scouts could generate, it did share with them a sort
of organic feel. An hint of a hypothesis was forming in her mind -- that
perhaps long ago some living being had stored a vast amount of energy in
certain materials and --
"Ohh!!" Amy said in surprise. As she had been thinking, she'd touched the
crystal with a small sonic probe in hopes of detecting some internal
structure. The crystal was responding with a brilliant glow... that as only
getting brighter and brighter.
Amy stood up and backed away, shielding her eyes.
   "Dr.Beddows!" she called.
But there was no response. The light faded. Amy looked about, blinking
away spots, trying to find the professor. "Doctor..?"
She turned back to the work table -- only to almost step right into a swirling
disk of blackness that had formed behind her.
"Oh my goodness!" Amy cried in alarm. She started to step back and flee,
but a stubby dark arm reached from the portal and grabbed her arm.
   "Dr. Beddows!" she called again.
Another arm clutched her around her waist, another had her leg, and
another closed around her face and mouth.
Amy struggled, but she found nothing underneath her feet to push
against. She fell backwards and the black portal closed around her.

                             *    *   *

At their meeting room, Raye, Mina, and even Serena were intently
concentrating on their homework. With all the nightly patrols all the Scouts
had been missing sleep and their grades were suffering. Serena was
particularly worried since she didn't have much room for her scores to get
much lower to start with...
The door to the meeting room slid open.
"Hi, Lita!" Serena said cheerfully glad of a distraction.
Lita though was clearly not in cheery mood.
"Lita, what's wrong?" asked Mina. All the girls looked up at their tall
friend.
"I was jogging past the University after school today. I ran into that
professor friend of Amy's, Dr.Beddows. He gave me this..."
Lita reached into the pocket of her jeans and pulled out a small blue box
and set in on the table in front of the girls.
   "That's Amy's computer!" said Serena. "How --"
"Dr.Beddows said he found it lying around his museum. He recognized it as
Amy's and guessed she must have dropped during one of her visits. He thought
it was just her compact of course. He knew I was Amy's friend and asked me to
return it to her."
"And she never goes anywhere without her computer," added Mina.
Luna and Artemis came running into the room. "We heard something about
Amy," said Luna.
"I'm afraid something bad has happened to her," Lita said forlornly,
sitting down.
"Just because she lost her computer?" Serena said, her eyes starting to
fill with tears.
"Amy, loose something?" Raye said skeptically. "She's not like you --
You'd loose those meatballs if they weren't growing out of your head!"
Serena sniffed and then broke into full-fledging crying.
Raye frowned... and then put her hand on Serena's shoulder. "I'm sorry --
that was mean of me. I'm just worried too."
Artemis hopped onto the table. He sniffed at the computer and then opened
it with touch of his paw.
Luna joined him. "Is there some clue?" she asked.
"I should -- ulp!" Sweat drops on Artemis's head.
   "What's wrong," asked Mina.
"I.." the white cat peered closely at the computer's small display
screen. "I know the Moon Kingdom programming this thing uses well enough --
but it looks like Amy has made a lot of changes. She might have rewritten
the entire operating system..!"
"Amy was using it and her scanner to investigate the artifacts," said
Mina. "There must be some information about what she was doing before...
Well, what she was last working on."
Artemis tapped a few keys tentatively. "I'll ah... I'll do what I can."
Serena leaned in close. "You have to Artemis!"
She then stood and addressed the rest of the girls. "We have to go look
for her ourselves! If Amy's in trouble the Sailor Scouts aren't going to let
her down!"
"Right!" said the others in unison.
                             *    *    *
Amy had no way of telling how long she had been falling. Or if she was
falling at all, rather than floating in a void. "General Theory of
Relativity," she couldn't help noting.
A sudden jolt answered her question. She crashed into a springy, giving
surface that bounced up and down with the impact. Opening her eyes she saw
it was a sheet of dark fibrous material that caught and clung at her limbs.
A moment of panic seized her and she tugged and tore at the fibers -- and
only got herself more tangled.
"Hold it young lady," she said to herself. "You're not going to get out of
a web by acting like a fly..."
Amy began to pull more cautiously and carefully at the material.
The dim glow she saw by became suddenly brighter.
Amy was in a large, very strange cavern. The towering walls were all
bubbled and twisted in pock marks and cables of stone, unlike any geological
formation she knew of.
A vortex of black flame sprung into being above her. The form of
Dr.Beddows appeared, floating in midair.
"You!" shouted Amy. "You aren't Dr.Beddows!"
"A fine accusation," the figure said. "Coming from you, Emily Waters...
aka, Amy Anderson."
The figure gestured. Amy gasped as an electrical tingling ran through her
from the web. A sheath of light formed around her... and when it faded her
disguise was gone, leaving her as herself in her school uniform.
"Or rather," the floating figure said. "I should say... aka Sailor
Mercury..."
Amy scowled. "What have you done with the real Dr.Beddows!"
The figure began to float down to the cavern floor. Shadows danced and
the illusion of the professor vanished revealing a young man with long hair
and a close fitting bodysuit. He wasn't unhandsome, but it was hard to make
out any detail since his suit, hair, and skin were all a uniform matte
black.
"The professor just found it necessary to take an afternoon nap, so you
needn't worry."
The Dark Mage stepped closer. From the gloom behind him, two of the black
headless creatures, their cyclops eyes gleaming banefully.
"Just what is it you are up to!" Amy demanded.
"Hmm? Well most recently I've been studying you and your friends. Very
interesting. Most particularly you..."
   "Me? Why?"
"Don't underestimate yourself, Ms.Anderson. You are by far the most
dangerous of the Scouts. Removing you was vital -- before you caused any more
interference in my plans. Without you the other Scouts will be helpless."
   "We'll see about that, creep!"
"Mmm... Once my work is finished, Ms.Anderson you'll be free to go -- but
until then..."
"Ah!" the fibers holding Amy pulled tight, stretching her taunt and
motionless. She strained, but could not move an inch.
The Dark Mage stretched his hand out towards Amy's chest...
"Oh, so that's the way it is!" Amy shut her eyes tight. "Well, you might
abuse my body, but you'll never break my spirit!"
The figure drew back. "What..? Oh, come on Amy!" Jeez... That's just
sick. Jeez..."
   Amy opened one puzzled eye...
"Actually... ah, what you're thinking, is last thing I have in mind
for you."
The figure slapped his hand down on Amy's chest above the bow of her
uniform. Black flames swirled out from the contact and began to wrap around
her.
Amy cried out, not so much in pain, but in disorientation. Besides the
tickling charge of power, the whole world seemed to twist and bend, as if
everything, her body included, were being turned inside out.
With gasp she came back to her senses. She was no longer in the web, but
was on her hands and knees on the cavern floor.
The Dark Mage stood looking down at her.
"Wha.. what... have you done to me," Amy panted.
"You Scouts are quite powerful. Neutralizing your powers would be quite a
feat. But an unnecessary one, when simply confusing those powers will do."
The Mage gestured to the black blobs at his sides and began to walk off.
"We'll see who's confused," Amy said getting to her feet.

   "MERCURY POWER!!"

The familiar torrent of power gathered around her, but then Amy was
keeling over, the warping disorientation returning.
She was on the floor again, clutching her head, when the spinning
stopped. Cautiously she opened her eyes. She had transformed into Sailor
Mercury all right -- she even still had on her uniform. So much for the
creep's magic. She stood.
But a new, more intense wave of vertigo hit her. Amy was determined though to
stay on her feet and ride it out. The spinning did begin to fade, but another
sensation flooded her. Her skin began to itch fiercely and painful cramps
struck her abdomen.
Sailor Mercury stumbled back and forth like a drunk, trying get control of
herself. She heard a tearing... the back of her uniform had split... All
across her shoulders there was a tightness, but in front...
In astonishment, Amy looked down and saw the front of her uniform was...
sagging... Her bust was shrinking..?
All this swept aside by a new stab of sensation... between her legs. A
painful constriction, and then a tearing of cloth and...
"It's impossible!" Amy cried -- and gasped at the harsh deepness in her
voice.
The itching and cramps were gone. Amy's hand touched and probed up and
down carefully... finally coming an inescapable conclusion when she reached
her groin.
The Dark Mage stopped walking, looked back, and smiled.
"I'm a boy..." Amy said, cringing once again at her new voice. "You...
You... monster!"
"Now that's harsh," said the Mage. "I'd think a curious girl...er, person
such as yourself would welcome this as a learning experience.
He began to walk away again.
Her anger wasn't going to let Amy give in this easily though.
"You may have enjoyed your little games, you little geek," Sailor Mercury
called. "But on behalf on Mercury I'll punish you for toying with the Sailor
Scouts!"

   "MERCURY BUBBLES BL---Ohhh!"

As soon as they formed, Mercury's bubble began bursting, buffeting her
around with freezing cold impacts...
"I'd be real cautious," said the Mage as he walked. "About trying
any of your powers. I've rotated your body 180 degrees through what you
might call 'gender space.' The effects on your Sailor powers are likely to
be... unpleasant."
Mercury tried to get a grip. How... how could this happen? Still... it
*had* happened and she would just have to rationally accept that fact until
she did come underland the how...
She looked at herself again -- but was still too disturbed to peer past
her waist. She held out an arm, part of her still disbelieving, as she studied
the unfamiliar proportions, hair, and muscles...
"Hey, creep!" she called with her new vocal cords. "We still have some
business to finish. Man-to-man if you like..."
The Mage looked around... And say Mercury charging down the tunnel at
him. Amy reared back and smashed a fist with all her new strength into
the Mage's jaw!
"Youch!" said the young man as he sat down hard on the cave floor. One
of his servant creatures rushed over to help him to his feet, while the
other jumped in front of Amy.
The Dark Mage called it off. "Hmm. Not exactly an expected side-effect,"
he said rubbing his jaw. "Still I'm not without my own contingencies."
Amy braced herself, but the Mage stepped back, placing both his palms
on the smooth stone wall behind him.
The entire cavern rumbled and groaned.
Amy glanced about, trying to guess what new danger was coming.
Still, she was startled by a touch on her shoulder... She spun and saw
the cavern surface near her had soften and extruded... an arm. A long,
delicate, feminine arm. Gentle fingers stroked at Amy's shoulder.
She stepped back -- and into the soft embrace of another pair of
caressing limbs. In fact, an entire well-rounded female torso was bending
from the stone.
Warm, loving touches seemed to be coming from every direction. The torn
fragments of her now ill-fitting Sailor uniform were being plucked away. Amy
knew she should fight, but too many new, confusing sensations were surging
through her. Most particularly through her groin...
The new addition to Amy's anatomy was springing to life. Amy stared wide
eyed as it began to grow and jut upwards.
As best as she could Amy tried to turn away and cover the twitching
organ with hands and thighs.
The Mage laughed. "Come on now, that's nothing to be ashamed of. We guys
understand these things, right?"
Amy shouted past the smiling faces that were now kissing her cheeks and
blowing fragrantly on the back of her neck. "This isn't fair... The Scouts
won't let you get away with us! We'll find away to stop you!" She bit her
lip stopping a moan. One of the dozens of stroking hands had found its way
between Amy's thighs and was gently running a finger tip up and down...
"I really don't understand why you are being so hostile," said the Mage.
"Oh, of course... Rude of me... You'd prefer to be alone with your new
friends. I'm sure you all will mange to keep yourselves occupied... Later!"
In a flash, a swirl of shadow covered the Mage and his servants. They
were gone.
Amy though did not notice the final departure. Too many kissing, hugging,
stroking, and licking forms now surrounded her. It was a battle she had
never even considered having to fight, and what little resistance she could
muster soon was devoured...

Author's note:

Besides being a little plot heavy, this chapter has something of a different
feel that previous ones. I knew this was a situation that was coming, but I
thought I'd just wait and see what happened when I got here.

I'd be curious about any reader reactions. Does this chapter go "too far"
as it were, and break the ground rules that other chapters have set up?
Would readers actually prefer things to go in the other direction, and
perhaps get a little more "intense"?

Any comments welcome, and will likely influence my approach to the remaining
two chapters of "Heavy Genesis.'

Oh yes, also: does my use of "her" and "she" for Mercury bother anybody when
they are no longer really appropriate? Trying anything else seemed too
distracting...

Thanks!
