I stood in an alley of the store, trying to choose a soap
dish. So many little--and not so little--things you have to
buy when you start over. Stainless steel? Blue plastic--the
new bathroom is blue. Or maybe white plastic--I won't be
staying there more than 3 years. Then again, this off-white
earthenware...

Absentmindedly, I watched the other customers. The proud
father-to-be and his radiantly pregnant wife. The harried
week-end dad trying to keep his 5 year-old's hands away from
anything breakeable. Mmm. Cute kid, and nice butt... I
smiled to myself, realizing that I'd started to look at men
that way again. Checking looks AND availability. Not that
I'd ever stopped appreciating the sights, but...

Well, it's like for the soap dish: before, I had a soap dish
and didn't need another one. So if I saw one in a store, my
eyes noticed it looked nice, and slid on in search for
something I needed. Now, I actually go into stores in search
of the right soap dish. And the wonderful thing is, there
are so many nice ones to choose from.
