One Miracle's Enough By Adrian Mailenna It passed like a dream, just a kiss that stretched out into the long, beautiful coil of infinity, until our clothes were peeled away, until she held me, naked in the candlelight, and let me trace the long, gentle curves of her perfect, supple skin. I had never felt anything so wonderful, smooth and pinkish cream, like the edge of a beautiful conch, and though I drank in the pleasure of its touch, like wine, I faltered, when the time came, to give myself to her. "I've never done this before," I whispered, a prayer against her cheek. "All my life I've believed in miracles, in the gifts only given to the pure of heart." I slipped away, to watch her deep blue eyes. "I won you with those miracles, you know, with the words that came from God." She kissed me, then, light as a breath against my lips. "I may lose them now, and I am scared." Her kiss came again, deep and full of love. "But if I never write another word, you're miracle enough for me." -- Copyright 2004 Adrian Mailenna.
