Dear Friends of Decency,

         Many thanks to all those of you who attended our recent Family 
Gathering.  As you know, we expressed our deep concern about the lack of 
quality family programming on our local cable system, (blank) Cable.
         I contacted (blank) Cable recently but was unable to get any positive 
response.  Despite the plethora of Pay Per View programming on (blank) 
Cable, they claim they have Òno extra capacityÓ for C-SPAN 3.  This 
despite the fact that they recently added Fox News to their channel lineup.  
Fox, as you know, is the manufacturer of such uplifting family fare as 
Beverly Hills 90210.
         You would be amazed at the lack of family programming on (blank) 
Cable.  Recently I added up all the R-rated movies shown in JUST ONE 
MONTH on (blank) Cable.  Disgusting material, such as (insert movies, etc. 
here).  
         There are many types of religion in our country.  Some people 
worship Buddha, others Mohammed, others Jesus Christ.  Yet (blank) Cable 
apparently worships the God of Smut!  Like you, I am deeply concerned 
about the effect television has on our children.  Certainly there is not 
much quality programming to begin with, and (blank) Cable canÕt air what 
doesnÕt exist.  But C-SPAN 3 DOES exist!  (blank) Cable simply refuses to 
carry it.  
         Perhaps with concerted community action we can convince (blank) 
Cable to carry C-SPAN 3.  But IÕm not counting on it.  (blank) Cable has, so 
far, shown a preference for catering to the tastes of the depraved.  
Perhaps they hope our children will be corrupted by their programming.  
Then theyÕll have even more perverts to sell their (50) channels of ÒPay 
Per PhewÓ programming to.
         Let us not forget our motto, ÒJoined in Concern, for our Community.Ó
