         Dear holy joe,

         Is it true that the age of consent in this country until 1898 was age 
ten?  If thatÕs true it seems to me that weÕre really getting ripped off, 
forced to live under laws made by weenies like Al Gore and George Bush 
when we could be living under the laws of George Washington and Abraham 
Lincoln.  Call me a molester if you like, but thatÕs how it seems to me.

         holy joe replies:  YouÕre right.  Until 1898, the age of consent in this 
country was age 10.  My opinion is that if you see a girl, you ought to be 
able to talk to her.  ThatÕs called freedom of association, a part of the 
First Amendment that people seem to have forgotten.  But for those who 
need an age of consent, for sex, then let that age be the age it always was 
during the time of our forefathers:  age 10.  As I like to say, ÒIf it was 
good enough for George Washington, itÕs good enough for me.Ó
