late one irish night
by John A. Douglas
Sean OÕCasey arose from his
theatrical highly theatrical
grave so full of yeatsian
maggots and gave an odd
sodden poetry reading:
he read to the bums
he read to the chums
he read to the stones
he read to the bones
he read to all poets
he read to all strivers
he read to all altruists
he read to subscribers
and the end result
of all of this
after life toil
was a sentence
to serve a
death term
under mrs. boyle
