Chapter 5

 

Jake had returned to his bedroom when he had a thought. "What if AL could transfer some of the data to his computer? Then Amy and he could review it without having to go back and forth to the base." He waited a few minutes and then asked Amy if she wanted to work on their project some more, this was just an excuse to get Amy away from Kate. After getting Amy in with him, Jake told her his idea and asked her opinion. Amy liked the idea but wondered if there was a way that both of them could review the data at the same time, but different data. Jake told her if AL could transfer the data to his computer, then Jake could just put each of them on a different machine on the network and they could each review whatever AL made available. Amy contacted AL and asked about the transfer. AL told her to have Jake go to a certain web site using the user name "Chief" and the password "progen1234" and for her to use the name "Captain" with the password of "progen4321". AL would reroute the connection to the main computer on the base from there. Jake and Amy went to the webster and signed in as instructed.

Amy selected the Captain's Log and began to review it.

Captain's Log

  1. Arrived in system with single yellow sun; we took damage to main engine cause unknown at this time
  2. Landed on moon of third planet due to engines going off line; Engineering conducting full diagnostics to determine cause of failures
  3. Sent scout ships to survey planet; First Officer in charge of survey
  4. Chief Engineer reports sabotage as cause of failures; Security will review all sensor data to try and find saboteur identity
  5. Main engines not repairable at this location; will need "dry dock" for complete replacement. Main communication array has been found to be damaged also. This will prevent us from calling for help; we only have short range comms available.
  6. First Officer returned and reported that planet was inhabitable and that there does not appear to be any intelligent life forms on the planet and that the resources do not appear to be available for major repairs.
  7. Chief Engineer now reports that power is failing and he can't find the cause; switched to backup power for now. ALl crew advised to limit power usage until main is on-line.
  8. Had a meeting with First Officer, Chief Engineer, and Security Officer to discuss the sabotage of engines, communications, and power systems. The only thing we can come up with is a theory that we have an enemy operative on board. Will conduct in depth record check of all personnel. It was determined that if we don't get help soon we will be forced to abandon ship and relocate to planet below.
  9. It has been 10 cycles since we were forced to land on this moon due to several acts of sabotage. Still searching for saboteur's identity. There are resources on the planet but they are hard to reach at this time as we are an exploration ship and not a colonizing ship and therefore have no heavy mining or replicating equipment available.
  10. We lost a scout ship today; Ensign SuLak's ship appears to have exploded in the atmosphere of the planet. No signs of survivors or ship
  11. We have determined that Ensign SuLak was the saboteur as we found traces of his DNA on some of the systems affected; also, faint sensor readings show that his ship was "seen" to be heading out of the system. Chief Engineer has not been able to affect sufficient repairs to allow us to communicate other than short range or to effect an attempt at leaving this system.
  12. It has been 100 cycles since we arrived here and the time has come to abandon ship just so we can have some hope of survival; maybe another explorer ship will come by some time in the future.
  13. This will be my last entry, all personnel have been evacuated from the ship. I have instructed the AI to move the ship to another area of this moon so as to prevent anyone from returning and to prevent the discovery of this ship by future generations until such time as the planet has developed enough to possibly make repairs. I still feel that we have another saboteur left in the crew as the damage was too much for one person to handle alone. I have shared these feelings with the First Officer, Chief Engineer, and Security Chief as we have all served together for many cycles and we trust each other with our lives.

Jake selected the Chief Engineer's Log for review.

Chief Engineer's Log

1.       Main engine has gone off line unexpectedly. Will start full diagnostics at Captain's order.

2.       Engines have had just about all circuits reversed and this has resulted in lost of containment of fuel to space and there are not enough spare parts to allow for replacement; not to mention that most of our reserves were jettisoned.

3.       Communication array also has been sabotaged in that there were several acid based packets placed inside of critical components and pathways

4.       Main power off line, more sabotage!

5.       First Officer reports that resources on planet not readily available without major mining and replicating equipment being available

6.       At the request of the Captain, I have modified the AI to only recognize the DNA for him, the first officer, chief of security, and myself. This was done to prevent saboteur from gaining access to critical areas. We also found out that Ensign SuLak was most likely the saboteur as he has attempted to leave this system in a scout ship after faking his own death.

7.       Preparations have been completed for all personnel to abandon ship to the planet; AI locked to captain's access only until ship is empty.

8.       ALl shuttles and scout ships have had a self destruct added, at the Captain's order, so as to prevent them being "captured" by unauthorized personnel.

Amy and Jake both updated each other as to what they had found out. After both reviewed the First Officer and Security Chief logs they had no new information except that they agreed with the findings that Ensign SuLak was a saboteur and that there was most likely at least one more that wasn't found. After eating supper, the three "kids" watched TV together for a while then went to bed.

 

As he lay in bed, Jake started thinking. Sure he was much more mechanically inclined than Amy, but they were both very smart. Amy seemed to have more organizational skills than he did; maybe that was the repressed DNA traits coming out. Just as Jake was dozing off, AL sent him a message saying that Amy seemed to be in some distress. Jake went to check on her and found that the distress was his sister's administrations of "oral intercourse" causing Amy to cum many times in a row.
