Note: This story was dynamically reformatted for online reading convenience. Hello and thank you for coming to my Teasers folder. I will go straight to the point, if you allow me. These teasers are to show you what kind of roleplay we do at IRC. We have a room at FurNet.org, where folks come and go, and some stay. Let me explain to you what IRC is. Internet Relay Chat (IRC) are a group of networks where people talk to one another without being moderated by big companies like google or facebook. These networks are usually full of savvy people that know a lot about computers, internet, and generally computer related things. Many of these users create rooms to discuss one thing or another, depending on the room's theme. In my case, I roleplay at IRC with my friends, who roleplay as my pets. I get for them artwork, a roleplay environment and there is a new movie at the topic every Thursday. In return, I get to roleplay as a Mistress/Master. Most of the time I choose my main, Christel Shard, my favorite character. She's currently a herm hyena, and she likes to talk and play with all her pets. This, though, does not mean I mistreat them. I take care of them, by talking, or advising on real life stuff, or we roleplay. As the main character, Christel always appears unexpectedly, meaning I can connect at any given time if I can connect, because I got real life studies I must attend to. My time zone is Atlantic time (00:00) and I usually connect from 12 pm. to 2 pm. I may stay longer, depending on my studies and the things I got to do in real life, so, other than those hours, I won't be online. Now, why am I explaining this to you? The main reason is that I want to roleplay with you, my readers. Roleplay does not mean only sex stuff, or otherwise known as yiff. As you can see in some of my teasers that I've been uploading, sex isn't everything in FurNet. Whatever you might have heard about furries, the truth is that we lead a leisure life-style, not judging anyone as we talk, roleplay and otherwise have fun. Since I'm a mistress/master (and pretty dominant, I'm told) I'd like to offer you the opportunity to be my pet. Understand the difference between Slavery and Petdom. Being a pet means you have restricted free will, which basically means you can talk or roleplay with whoever you choose, either at my room, or the many rooms that are at FurNet. The restriction comes when you roleplay with me, since I will make you do the following: - Roleplay in 3rd Person. This is very important when my friends and I roleplay, because the result is much nicer than first or second person, and it looks like you're reading a book instead of roleplaying. - When in room, I will encourage you to talk! Talk about anything, really, I don't mind the subject unless it is a hate speech, politics or putting down one of the users of the room. - Respect all players, whatever the roleplay is or whatever they type. - Good language skills are required, as well as grammar and vocabulary. - Keep in mind that we are an international room. Ask politely to clarify things that you don't understand, and if someone says: "I'm going to bed" or "I'm busy", respect them. - Very important: REGISTER YOUR NICK! That way we will be sure who are we talking to. Quick Crash Course on how to connect to IRC.FURNET.ORG/#Shard_Family_Manor First you need to choose an irc client, like ChatZilla or AndroIRC. ChatZilla is real easy, and since it is for computers, and cross platform, all you will need is FireFox or the ChatZilla Standalone. You can get Chatzilla for FireFox here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/chatzilla/ Alternativelly, there are portable versions of ChatZilla for Linux and Windows. On Mac, you can use ChatZilla too, through FireFox. If you don't want to install (or cannot install) software in your machine, you can take a look at this: http://alternativeto.net/software/chatzilla/?platform=online Now, we got chatzilla: We open chatzilla and we will find a window with three basic parts: Options: On the upper left corner of ChatZilla, you will see a downdrop tab that is tittled Chatzilla. There we are going to go later, but I want you to be aware of it. Main Chat screen: Most of the screen is taken up by that box, where you will see the content of the chats. Typing box: On the bottom part of the screen, just bellow the Main Chat screen, there is a cursor blinking. You will be able to type your text there. By pressing enter, you will send the content of what you typed to the people in the room or in the private messages. Now we type: /server furnet.org And we press enter. That way, the /server command is followed by the irc chat you want to connect. So, if we type: /server irc.furnet.org/#Shard_Family_Manor And press enter, you will appear at my room directly. I recommend you to use first /server furnet.org though, because it will allow you to do command stuff, without entering any room yet, thus giving you privacy. Remember what I said about registering your nick? If you register a nick, you will be able to join rooms with status authomatically when you enter the rooms. Besides, you would not like someone else taking your nick. So, nick means nickname, which basically is the way to identify yourself in the network. Ok, we type in the Typing box: /nick foo This will change your current nick to "foo". Note that if you receive this warning: This nick is already registered. Type: /msg nickserv identify yourpassword to identify yourself, otherwise we will automatically change your nick. It will mean that username is already taken and registered. So, to register your nick: /nick foo /msg nickserv register foopassword foo@email.com foopassword can be your own password. Make sure it is something you easily remember. foo@email.com is your email. Next, you will receive an email at your foo@email.com address. Follow instructions on the email and you will be able to fully register your nick. Once done with the confirmation, go to ChatZilla -> Options. Go to tab Furnet and go to autocomplete tab. Click on "Add" at Autocomplete tab and type: /msg nickserv identify foopassword Click on Apply and then on OK. Next, to chat, we need to join a room. Type: /join #foo You will appear in #foo room when you press enter. So, to join my room or any other you want, you can also click on the names of the rooms with the command /list And that's pretty much it! You would have joined FurNet.org, a place for furries to have fun and chat. Christel Shard, April 3rd, 2016.
