Sammie cringed as the doctor slid three gloved fingers inside her vagina and pushed up while feeling with his other hand on her lower belly. Her mother smiled, thinking Sammie was uncomfortable. Yet, Sammie was enjoying the feeling of what the doctor was doing; her only discomfort was what the doctor would say as he examined her. And she was not to be disappointed, "Well Sammie, I'd say you've been sexually active." "How is that?" mom demanded. The doctor removed his hands and looking straight at mom explained, because she's about 8 weeks pregnant." "WHAT!!!!" mom yelled. "Ma'am, if you don't calm down I'll have you removed. I need to finish the exam and run some tests." Begrudgingly, mom sat down and remained quite for the rest of the exam, glaring at Sammie the whole time.
Sammie sighed as the cold speculum was slid into her, but was a trooper as the doctor opened it wide to see her cervix. She cringed a little in pain, but also moaned in pleasure, as the doctor scraped her cervix for a Pap smear. She moaned even more as he used his gloved fingers to check the texture, position, and tightness of her cervix. "Good job, Sammie," the doctor said and smiled, "I'm going to do an ultrasound now to see just what's going on in your womb." "Ok, doc," she sighed.
As he prepped the ultrasound machine he began to ask Sammie questions. "Do you know who the father is?" Color coming to her cheeks, Sammie admitted that she'd been with five guys in the last six weeks seeing each one at least once each week. The doctor nodded noting in his sheets that a DNA test would be needed to find paternity. The doctor looked her straight in the eye as he asked, "Do you want to keep this baby?" "I don't know doctor. I'd like to, but my mother may not let me. And I am so young." Again the doctor nodded as he made notes in his files - girl may want to keep, mom definitely does not want pregnancy to continue. The look on mom's face gave the doctor no doubt of that last note.
Sammie squirmed some and moaned a little as the transvaginal ultrasound rod entered her and was moved around inside her. The doctor took notes and mumbled a little as he worked moving the rod around so he could get a complete view of Sammie's womb and it's contents. After taking a few more pictures and jotting down a few more notes, he removed the rod and looked at Sammie. "It's confirmed. You are about eight weeks pregnant with twins. You have a few weeks to decide whether you want to keep them or have an abortion. Make an appointment with the receptionist for the end of a day in four weeks on your way out. If you decide you want to abort, tell me at the next appointment and we'll do it before you leave here. Understand, Sammie?" "Yes, doctor." He looked at the mom, "Do you understand ma'am? I'm to see her in four weeks still pregnant. I expect the final decision to be your daughter's, not yours." Everyone could see mom fume with anger at that, but she calmly said, "I understand." An appointment was made for the last slot on the Friday in four weeks. "I expect you to go home without them, next time," mom said on the way out of the office while slapping Sammie's belly.
