Apologies to friends. 
---------------------

   I do feel the need to apologize to you all about my 
lack of entries in my BLOG since August 22.  As an 
indication here is a short list of what we have been 
doing.  


August 17 - 21 -   Vacation with the Lowes at our
                   friends property.  
August 22 - 23 -   Jen packed up & we get ready to take
                   her back to university.  
August 24 - 28 -   In Vancouver getting Jen settled,
                   tour Vancouver area with our hosts,
                   visit Wreck Beach, return home on           
                   the 28th. 
August 29 - 31 -   weekend cleaning up at home with a
                   day visit to the club. 
September 1 -      Rob starts Grade 3 
September 2 - 4 -  sign up kids for swim classes,
                   soccer, dance.  
September 5 - 22 - routines settling in.  Day trips to 
                   club on weekends.  


   Right now I won't attempt to carry on with telling 
you more about our holidays as I am still trying to 
get all that happened written down in a way that makes 
sense.  A lot happened with our friends on the August 
17 to 21 vacation.  I need to get more of the 
viewpoint from our friends as to what they felt was 
exciting for them as more milestones were achieved 
with our families.  Since those milestones occurred we 
are spending more time with our children just enjoying 
them as they learn and play.  Many of you have noticed 
my infrequent chats online for a while now, that is 
mostly because we are focused on our children more 
exclusively these days which is the right place for a 
mom.  


   One milestone I will mention, is that Matthew, my 
21 month old, is now potty trained!  While we were 
camping he was always taking off his diaper. He 
preferred to be naked and while camping I let him 
because a little pee on the dirt or grass wasn't a 
problem.  Matthew started to show more interest in 
July and really studied us all when we would go into 
the bathroom.  He would stop everything and run to 
check out who was there and to watch.  


   He likes to watch his older sister Kathy and his 
brother Rob using the toilet.  When Kathy was done 
she'd call out for me to help check her bottom and 
he'd run to find me.  I'd come into the room usually 
finding her bent over the side of the tub, her cute 
bare bottom tilted upwards.  As I would lean over to 
check how well she had cleaned herself, Matthew would 
stick his head between mine and her bottom to check 
too.  So cute!  I'd then take a wet wash cloth, finish 
cleaning her and kneel down to give her a final check 
with my tongue.  All those nooks do need some 
attention you know!  Then Matthew started doing that 
too!  He would copy what he could seen I had been 
doing.  Holding her bottom cheeks apart, fingering 
her, then licking all around giving her some gentle 
pleasure.  Seeing Matthew doing that with Kathy is 
just too cute.  Now that Matthew is trained, he too 
receives the same attentions from me too.  


   You know a child is getting into mischief when you 
haven't heard a sound from them in 5 minutes.  Well, I 
found him a few times with his butt down inside the 
toilet and him hanging onto the sides.  That was a 
huge clue for me to get out the potty for him.  He 
loved the idea and soon knew when to go potty and then 
ask for help getting cleaned up.  He still needs to 
learn more about cleaning up but he is getting there.  
He is not shy to ask for help and will ask to have his 
bottom cleaned from anyone around.  


   Now he can enjoy being totally nude like the rest 
of us.  I do have him in pull-ups for sleep time but 
even those are dry most times.  We've had a few wet 
accidents here at home but those are very infrequent 
the past week. This was another reason for me not 
chatting all the time .  When he had to go I had to 
stop anything I was doing.  Some days it was a 
challenge I must say.  A very pleasant challenge.
