As you know with Jen away to university, my activity 
level at home increased. I am finding that I'm 
becoming a hockey/swim/ballet mom and acting 
chauffeur/short order cook/consoler of hurts and mom. 
My writing times are short which is ok but leaves all 
my friends on Yahoo in the dark for long times. So 
here is an update. 



Kathy's Birthday Party


Her birthday was mid week so while we had a nice "us" 
only party on her birthday, we also had another on the 
following Saturday. The Lowe's and all of their 
children were invited to share in the celebration. We 
had the kids and adults doing body painting, finger 
painting, making valentines and a few games that the 
kids like doing. (Twister is one.) After that mess, 
Amy and I sent them all downstairs to our shower room

We joined them towards the end of their shower but 
they all disappeared leaving myself and Amy alone for

Kathy's dinner was roast chicken which she loves, 
smashed potatoes and peas. (We also had salad which 
she still has an aversion to eating.) For desert, 
Kathy wanted to be the platter, with bananas (I found

giggled the whole time. I know we all had fun too. The 
rest of the evening was another shower, watching a

Of course you know that we were all nude when we are 
at home all except for my youngest son Matthew who was 
in a diaper at the time. We had only had one of our 
Banana Split Desserts at Christmas with Jen being the 
test for that dessert. Kathy liked that so much that 
she said she would like to do that for her own 
birthday. One of our rules is that the person having 
the birthday gets to choose what happens on their 
birthday so we agreed to let her enjoy being "eaten" 
on her birthday. 


Following our recipe for Julie's Special Banana Split 
Dessert (see 20090207 entry) I placed Kathy's Poo Bear 
printed bath towel on the table and helped her lay 
down on it. I slid the towel and her down towards the 
end of the table to allow access to her lower body. I 
then raised her butt up and placed and adjusted 
another folded towel so that her bottom was raised,

Nuna


As you know, we have property which we have been 
working on for a while. The Lowe's are our partners in 
this purchase and we are planning to build 2 more 
"homes", a pool/sauna/hot tub area that would be in 
the center "courtyard between the garage and homes. 
Our plans are to build over a 3 year period. With our 
A frame cabin and current garage/workshop and RV pad. 
We can enjoy the property most of the time while we 
construct the other buildings.   

We've resurveyed the property and think we'll be able 
to also have several camp sites made around the 
property. The boys all want to be able to go out in 
the "wilderness" to camp over night. These sites will 
help the boys develop their skills in camping. Our 
plan is to let the boys decide on the trails and where 
the camp sites will be. In the future, I know we'll be 
able to use those sites for visitors should we get 
into being a nudist campground. (Just an idea for 
now.)

Our three year plans ended up being accelerated just a 
little. With so many incentives for building materials 
and construction we just couldn't loose the 
opportunity to build this past year. As of today, we 
have finished all of the two homes and the major 
foundations for the pool, hot tub and sauna. We had 
our last site review with our contractor and signed 
off on their work. It is all done! Our plans now are 
to decorate and then move from the city in July after 
the kids are finished school for the summer. We'll be 
able to continue with the outside work this summer. I 
know our guys will love being able to work at their 
own pace during their vacation.    Back to the

Family
  

We're all well, except for myself. I cannot get rid of 
this sore throat and ear plugged feelings. Went to the 
Doctor on Monday for a throat swab to see if there is 
any strep going on. I don't think so because everyone 
else is healthy. Jen's doing well in her courses. Rob 
is getting great marks at school too. His teacher says 
he is quite outgoing and friendly. He likes to help 
others a lot and listens well in class.

Sociobiologists believe that life and its evolution
results from the competition between individual 
species members to spread their genes by producing the 
most progeny. (Progeny, by definition, carry parental 
genes to future generations.) The central 
sociobiological thesis concerning incest/inbreeding 
avoidance simply states that natural selection favors 
outbreeding behavior because inbreeding more often 
results in genetically debilitated offspring in other 
words, inbreeding is not the best adaptive strategy 
for producing the most descendants. Although the 
deleterious thesis is widely accepted, and has taken 
on a law-like stature, a careful examination of the 
simple Mendelian mathematics involved quickly refutes 
this notion (Shields 1982; Livingstone 1969).  

Almost all harmful genes are recessive, requiring that 
both parents carry the gene to produce offspring that 
manifest the deleterious effect. Since relatives share 
some common ancestry, they are more likely than 
non-relatives to share the same harmful recessive 
genes. In this respect, the more closely related the 
mates, the more common their ancestry, and hence the 
more likely they will share the same deleterious 
genes. Thus, mating between relatives is thought to 
more readily produce genetically harmed descendants.  

However, if a society customarily practices 
inbreeding, such as first and second cousin marriage, 
harmful recessive genes will quickly pair up and wash 
out of the gene pool. This occurs because 
deleteriously effected individuals are far less likely 
to reproduce and pass along the harmful genes to 
descendants. The result of systematic and recurring 
inbreeding in a population is to reduce the "genetic 
load" (the number of harmful recessive in the gene 
pool). Thus, inbreeding is no more harmful than 
out-breeding. Indeed, the advantage of an inbreeding 
system, especially for slow breeding mammals like 
humans, is that it preserves genotypes that have 
already proven successful in the environment.  

Inbreeding is no more harmful than outbreeding unless 
inbreeding is practiced erratically in an otherwise 
outbreeding population. In outbreeding populations, 
mates are less likely to share close ancestry and thus 
the same harmful recessives traits. In this kind of 
reproductive system, recessive genes do not wash out 
of the population and thus accumulate as a large 
genetic load. The result can be the manifestation of 
harmful characteristics in the offspring of mating 
relatives.  

For most of human history, breeding populations were 
small and isolated, and the community often practiced 
cousin marriage. The results were a relatively 
homogenous population of inbred individuals. Such 
homogenous populations are also common in other 
species (Shields 1982). It is unlikely, therefore, 
that a naturally selected mechanism would evolve to 
prevent incest/inbreeding.
