About every two weeks we have a girl’s only night.
Starting when Jen was 5 or 6, I would plan a weekly
"date" with my daughter so that we could be alone and
I could focus my attentions on her forgetting all
about work or house work.
Each Friday, I would pick Jen up from school and we’d
stop at a video store and each of us pick out a movie
to watch that evening. We’d then go home and relax a
little talking about our day. I’d get the hot tub
going and warming up. Jen would get out something

Even after I was married to Keith we continued our
girls only nights. Keith would go out for the night
with his buddies leaving us alone. When we met our
neighbours Amy and James, I asked Jen if she minded if
I invited Amy and her daughter Angela to join us for
our girl’s night. Jen agreed and since November last
year we’ve had a girl’s night with them once a month.
(We still like to have our own girl’s night with just

Last Friday night was our girl’s night for September.
Amy, Angela, Jen and Karen (Jen’s g/f) got to our
place around 4:30. It was Karen’s first time to our
girl’s night. Our husbands had gotten home early from
work and taken the boys and our younger daughters with
them for a sleepover at Amy and James house. They
would be having their own night with the boys. (A

When the girl’s arrived we all got dressed in our
usual clothing for the evening, which is of course

asked Jen to do her too. Karen followed and so did
Angela. After that Amy got Jen to sit down and she
shaved Jen with the same attention to detail as Jen
had done with us.
We then got the showers all spraying and had the five
of us helping each other get all squeaky clean. (No
wash cloths were harmed.) Karen found out how to use
the pulse spray too when she happened to drop a cap
from the shampoo bottle. The hand spray sure helps get
to all those hard to reach spots too. We all really
really enjoyed the shower and the rest of the evening
as well. It was a great night for all of us.

You've all read my entry dated September 19, 2007
where I write about the Lowe family being introduced
to family play with our family. We had started Girls
Only Nights with Amy and Angela before we had
introduced them to family play. After we returned from
our summer vacation, our Girls Nights got a lot more
