Entry for September 19, 2007
Greetings from the great white north! Yes we have
snow on the tops of the mountains here. Actually our
weather has been improved for the last week. It has
actually been warm out with lots of sun, until today.
Oh well, I guess I have time to update my blog.
I'd like to tell you more about the start of our
summer vacation in this blog.
I've always loved being outdoors going out and
exploring for new areas that were quiet, private and
were we could be naked for as long as we wanted to.
In Canada there are lots of wilderness areas where you
can still find a perfect spot to sun and enjoy other
outdoor activities. I have always loved to camp,
hike, swim in cold lakes, canoe and fish. It was all
part of my growing up.
Now I'm a mom and my family is carrying on with my
love of the outdoors. However 6 years ago when I was
pregnant with my son Robbie, I realized that camping
with a baby would be more challenging. I convinced my
new husband that we really needed to have HOT running
safe water, a toilet and a nice bed. This led us to
buying a trailer. Our first one was cozy just one
room. There was an overhead bunk for Jen to sleep in
and the table dropped down to make a larger bed for
us. We quickly learned that bigger is better so three
years ago we purchased a 5th wheel which gives us all

Two summers ago through our nudist club we met one
older couple who owned some property about 3 hours
north of us in a remote forestry area. The area had

midst of re-growth. Their haven included a small

By the time we went on vacation with Amy, James and
their family, we had already introduced them to family

Mother Daughter Evenings
It was around February 2007 when Jen and I had

Arriving at Camp
We left on Friday before noon. The men and boys

The bumpy road followed along the stream and after
another 15 kilometer drive through the aspen poplar
and lodge pole pine forest we arrived at our
destination, a small sand bottomed lake fed by two

camping spot. In July the streams and the lake are
darned cold. As our husbands would say they are about

August the lake is actually not to bad and quite warm.

Within an hour we had the tents set up for the

in the trailer with the two youngest children.) The

outdoor table, chairs, all out. The canoe was lifted
down off the van and taken down to the beach. Having
lots of people really helps to get organized. Our

we scrambled for clothes to put on. Oh well, that's

Our two weeks were very good for us. We did have a

the rest of the time we did stay naked and enjoy the

4 hour hike with the kids up one of the streams to

The kids by this time had seen Amy, Jen or myself

James and Amy said that mornings at home are now a
lot easier. The bathroom isn't a bottleneck in the
mornings now that everyone is comfortable with being

other or with their parents. There is less
competition for the sink and mirrors for brushing
teeth, hair, makeup. The kids all seem to be happier
with each other. There is less sibling fighting now
than a year ago. Everyone seems to be able to get
along better and they all love helping each other out
more too. He really is convinced that children, who
grow up in a nudist environment, see that body changes
are natural. The kids see that puberty, sex,
pregnancy, birth and ageing are all part of a natural
process.
