/* below an (for the moment partial) overview of information out
of the inheritance from my grandfather. */
/* it seems he was part of (or maybe working on) some weird Nazi
experiments during and before WW II */
/* all of the handwritten letters are difficult to read and
translate */
/* most of them are administrative, some have a more narrative
nature */

General information so far:
- project-name Familienborn.
- basically it seemed a more controlled prequel to Lebensborn project.
- started in early 1930 by Otmar von Verschuer, later supervised
by Josef Mengele.
- 6 groups of each carefully selected 200-250 genetically related
people.
- idea was to bread a Nazi super-race by intra-family crossbreeding
(a.k.a. incest at various degrees).
- initial selected persons were: mothers (aged 40 or younger with at least one daughter aged 15
or older) and their husbands.
- mothers and daughters got impregnated by sons and nephews resp.
dads, uncles, brothers and cousins.
- resulting offspring (born in mid 1931) was checked: offspring
classified in cat. 0, cat. 1 and cat. 2.
- after approximately a month of nursing with mom, offspring was
taken to dedicated nursing women.
- cat. 0 was killed in infant state (sometimes used for medical experiments).
- at age of 10 final decision between cat 1 or 2 was made.
- cat. 1 was allowed to live and help in the compound, but was
not allowed to produce offspring.
- cat. 1 males were castrated at 10 and kept around as
servants/workers.
- cat. 1 females which did get pregnant (accidents do happen)
had an abortion with subsequent removal of ovarian tubes.
- cat. 2 was used for producing further offspring (once they
reached the age of 15).
- cat. 2 was included in sexual acts (non reproductive) from age
of 8.
- as soon as generation 0 moms (both the original mothers and
daughters) started ovulating/menstruating again after their
pregnancy, new round of impregnation (with different father)
commenced.
- each year (1931, 1932, etc...) a mid-summer baby-boom occurred
(labeled resp. generation 1, 2, etc...).
- after the war, the project obviously got canceled, but the 6
expanded groups kept some sort of contact.

My thoughts:
This probably explains the rather (even for the already relative
open 60/70's) liberal attitude from my (grand)parents towards
matters of sexuality.
Even (or perhaps especially) between 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree
members of the family.

Memories:
From earliest childhood I remember being naked around our grandparents.
At my parental home it was less strict and clothes were worn at some times, but at grandparents is was mandatory nudity.
