Day 6 (Saturday 29th May) I was wakened not with a breath on my face this morning but with Ellen holding onto my `Morning Glory' and climbing onto me and so we coupled, kissed and cuddled this time with no rush, Ellen also didn't want to rush to shower in her own room today, it didn't matter that Libby knew about us being in the same bed anymore, I was her Daddy and we were a family, that's what mattered. She got finished with her shower and then had to go down to her own room with the hotel dressing gown on again she told me later what happened. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ellen managed to get to her door without mishap or meeting anyone but had forgotten that she had given Libby the key last night to get into the room and no amount of knocking wakened her up, so Ellen calmly walked back to mine, but I must have been having my shower and never heard her, so she had to make her way down to reception and asked for someone to let her into her room as she had locked herself out, with a lot of smirking from other staff behind the counter a girl gave Ellen a spare key and she calmly went back up in the lift to her room but by the time she arrived she was shaking with embarrassment and had to sit down in her room for a few minutes. She thought to herself `Thank goodness we are leaving here soon'. She dropped the dressing gown onto the floor and then dressed casually for the day, she wished she had her own clothes from her wardrobe at the flat, maybe the police would let us in she wondered, I'll ask Ken his advise. She heard movement from Libbies room and knocked, heard a `come in' and walked in and saw Libby drying herself from her morning shower, Libby had no problems with her Mum seeing her in the nude after all she had been told by her Mum a while ago that her Mum had changed her nappies at one time, so no big deal. Ellen saw that Libby had blossoming breasts and her hips were showing signs of womanhood, no `puppy fat' showing on her body anymore, she had gone through a phase when she was about 10 or 11 when she seemed a little chubby but that had soon passed now she could pass as an adult but she had to remember Libby was still a schoolgirl. Long gone are the times when schoolgirls looked like schoolgirls. Ellen spoke up "When you are ready we will go to Daddy's room for breakfast, this will be our last night here tonight, we will have to get bedding for the house today and prepare for moving in, are you as excited as I am Libby?" "I cannot believe what a wonderful week this has been, do you realise we've known Ken for 5 days, what a whirlwind Knight in Shining Armour he has been for both of us Mum and do you realise what you just called Ken? You said `Daddy', I love him so much, I know you do too, he is such a good man, I'm not thinking about the money, I do mean the man, we are so lucky. Right! I'm ready, lets go" It was just coming up to 8:45 when they walked in the door. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ They walked in and I looked up from reading a paper and said "Breakfast arrived just before you two so we'll start straight away, I got a paper this morning and those bastards made the newspapers over the raid on that brothel, there's a report about 3 men being arrested on the premises at the time that weren't `customers' and there were another 4 men cautioned just for being there and ½ a dozen women, must have been some size of house, it's in a place called Newton Mearns, there's also mention here of stolen goods recovered at the scene but not what it was, they have them now and when Partick police charge them with your abduction, Libby, then stealing and arson at the shop, that will add to their problems. I don't know anything about Scottish law but I'm sure that kidnapping carry's a pretty hefty sentence and coupled with the fact of your age, they will all be on the Sex Offenders Register for a long time, so I don't think they will see the light of day for a while. Well that has cheered me up no end, after we've had breakfast we'll go, we have some special keys to pick up and then some shopping to do" Then I groaned as I looked at their faces when I said `shopping' and they burst out laughing. We picked up the keys, I gave them to Libby for safe-keeping, she was so proud and Ellen looked on as I did it with tears in her eyes, I said "Why the tears, darling?" "Look at her, she looks as if you've given her a million pounds, I'm silly, just ignore me, lets go and see if they fit the lock" She said more with laughter in her voice now. So off we went, another cab journey, I asked that we be dropped off about half way down Byers Road and I looked out for a particular shop, spied one and we entered, I asked Libby for the keys and got the man to copy a set for Ellen and one for Libby, then they picked out a novelty key ring each and put them on them, her own set, Libby was beaming all the time and then we arrived, I said that because this wasn't our marital home I wouldn't carry Ellen over the threshold so we let Libby have the honour, this she did with a flourish, walked in and held the door open for us, then she closed the door smiling all over her face. Ellen said we had better make a list of what we need room by room, I thought, `Wow, she has taken over housekeeping duties and we've only just got in the door' Well because it was furnished there really wasn't that much, she said we would need bedding as you couldn't expect the landlord to supply something so personal, I had never thought of that, then there was bathroom towels and drying towels for the kitchen and of course, food, the kitchen was something else, it had been kitted out for entertaining and it had one of those American fridge/freezers (you could stick a body in this one, it would take some filling and some of the floor cupboards were on rollers like the wine rack and pulled out from the units, I had the same kind in my house down south. I found some envelopes with adverts in them that made good notepads and wrote down everything that they pointed out as we went round the house, I said "We will never get everything we need today, I suggest we get some things today, I'll switch on the fridge/freezer now and they will be ready for food for tomorrow, we can go to the supermarket you used to go to, Ellen" "You will go with me and Libby to the supermarket?" "Sure, how else will you know what I like?" She said with wide eyes "Archie always said that men who go shopping with women were wimps" "Do you think I am a wimp, Ellen?" "No, Ken, you are more of a man than any man I have ever known, I love being with you what ever we are doing, you could do knitting if you wanted to and I would still feel the same" she said with a giggle, I love those giggles of hers and Libbies. So we went to Byers Road shopping, the girls were in their element, I even had a chance to get to an ATM to get some cash, (always handy even for millionaires) we asked the shopkeepers if they would lay aside our purchases and we would come back, we used up the Saturday morning and got back to the house in another cab with everything on our list and then some, there's always something you've forgotten, I thought we had everything but Ellen said "Toilet paper!!!" Libby said "Can I go out to get them? I saw a small shop just round the corner that will have them, I'll be careful, please?" Well she was gone perhaps 7 or 8 minutes, they were the longest minutes I have ever lived through and I gave her a big hug when she came back with the toilet rolls "What's that for, Daddy?" "I've missed you" "I was only gone 5 minutes" "I know but remember what we have been through, sweetheart and as a Father it's now my duty to worry, okay?" "Okay" Was all I got back from her as she walked away shaking her head with Ellen looking on. "It's alright, Ken I'll have a word with her, but you can't keep her in cottonwool for ever, she is going to want to go out on her own or with friends and you must let her go, I love what you did though and why and what you said to her" As we didn't have any food in we went to one of the many eating places on Byers Road and found it quite cheap, I was told that though this was a well to do area of Glasgow, the university was just round the corner and the area had to cater for the students as well, I really liked this place, I was a country boy at heart but if I had to live in a city, I could get used to this. I was told to stay out of the way while my women-folk sorted out the things that needed to be done so I said to both of them when we got back to the house, "I am going to the hotel and give them notice that we will be moving out tomorrow and I will arrange to pay the bill, I have a feeling that they think I am a celebrity or something, I want them to know that I can afford them and won't skip out as they will be wondering where you two are, okay? I also want to go to Jim's drop-in centre to let him know I'm still around and I want to put a proposal to him I have thought of, I'll be gone about 2½ maybe 3 hours, okay?" Ellen said "That should give us plenty of time to get things sorted here, we might even pop out and get some essentials like coffee, tea, milk and some biscuits also some Irn Bru for Libby" So I left and went back to the hotel, I spoke to the receptionist and paid the bill up to the following morning and she must have pressed a bell somewhere under the counter as the hotel manager came out from his office to greet me and to make sure that I/we had enjoyed our stay and wished us well. I picked up a cab from outside the hotel and gave the young lady Jim's address and she gave me a surprised look and asked if I had got the right address, I replied "That's alright, I know that its a drop-in centre and soup kitchen, I don't like it to be well known that I have more than I need but I'm one of it's sponsors" "I think that's really wonderful, this world could do with more people like you, sir" The taxi came to a halt I paid her and gave her a tip and she waved and shouted "Cheerio" as she drove away. Then I entered Jim's place and walked into the office. He was just sitting talking to a couple of his helpers and looked up as I entered, "Ah, the `Knight in Shining Armour' has arrived he said with an enormous grin" The other guys recognised me from the week I had volunteered with them and turned to shake hands, they had probably heard some of what had happened when I finished up, Jim spoke to them and said "Guys thanks for this morning, I'll see you later" They said their goodbyes and left. I sat in a chair on the other side of his desk and asked a simple question "How much would it take to buy a van and kit it out to go round Glasgow like a mobile soup kitchen at night?" Jim just sat there with his mouth open, then seemed to come to, "Why do you want to do that, Ken?" "Well I had reason to walk a few of the main streets in the city and as I walked I noticed people in back alleys sitting in makeshift tents, some of them just cardboard, I know I can only do so much but I would like to help more than I have here, I thought that it could be based here in Partick and maybe some of the local shopkeepers could help out with supplies for free advertising on the side of the van, what do you think?" "I think it's a great idea, I don't know how much something like this would cost, or even how I could get it off the ground" "Well I'm willing to help in any way, I'll be staying in Glasgow for a while longer Jim, I've rented a house in Hillhead for 6 months" "Wow, why are you doing that? Don't you have a life to go back to down south? I thought that that was the plan when you left here" "I have taken on some responsibilities since I left here, no doubt you will know about Archie Murray committing suicide and his shop getting raided and set on fire?" Jim agreed that he had heard about it, so I told him about how the police had raided a house in Newton Mearns and it was the bastards that had kidnapped Libby who were arrested, it was also them that had raided and set fire to Archie's shop, well I have taken Libby and her Mum under my wing (I didn't want to tell him the whole truth, he might not understand, not knowing all the circumstances) until this sorry mess is sorted out" "Ken, you are all heart, mate" "Jim, I am pretty busy the rest of this weekend and Monday so can I come and see you on Tuesday and discuss this at length?" "Sure, you know what times I'm free, whatever time around that that suits you, Ken" By this time it was getting on for 4pm so I asked Jim for directions to Byers Road and he said "What, no taxi Ken? Well it'll take you about 20 minutes to get to half way up Byers Road from here if that's anywhere near where you want?" Then he gave me directions, pretty straight forward, turn left onto Dumbarton Road and keep walking till I come to Byers Road, (the route took me past Archie's shop but nothing to see, it was all boarded up), then turn left again. So it wasn't long till I was turning the key into the house. I heard laughter as I entered and followed the sound into the lounge and found them sitting side by side laughing about something in a magazine they were reading, "Anything interesting?" I asked "Nothing really, just the antics of the well to do thinking they can get away with anything" "Well that's us now, we are part of the `well to do' crowd now, I just don't want it to change us too much, we are bound to change in some ways, after all we can afford pretty much anything you'll ever want now" Ellen said "I don't see us being the way these people are, they have had money all their lives and don't know how to act decently, I can't ever see us moving in their circles, apart from the fact that we are intent on giving away some or most of yours" "Ours" "Well okay Ken, ours if you insist, I refuse to be `Lardey Dah'" "If I ever see you changing, I'll put you over my knee and spank you" Libby piped up, "Now that's something I'd like to see you try" They both laughed at that and I joined in. After we had calmed down I suggested we look through the Yellow Pages that was in the house and see if there was a restaurant they fancied trying, I said to them both that since I was used to eating any kind of food, I thought it was about time they tried something that they would like to choose, well they chose a Scottish restaurant that had venison on it's menu, so I phoned and asked if we could get a table booked for about 7:30 or 8pm and they said 8pm would be better then the theatre people will have left, so I booked it. I said to Ellen and Libby "That gives us plenty of time to get back to the hotel to shower, get your war paint on and get changed into our `glad rags' Okay?" "WAR PAINT!!!" They shouted together and Ellen said "I think it'll be you, Ken that'll get spanked, but maybe not, you might like it" Then they both giggled. Then Ellen got a bit serious, "Ken, I think after we have been to the supermarket tomorrow we will have to get some more clothes, maybe some casual stuff like jeans and shirts and some slip-on shoes, until we can get into the flat we only have what you keep buying us and I will be pleased to get into some of my own stuff eventually" "Ellen, that does it, on Monday we are going to my bank to arrange for you to have some buying power. It's not fair that you have to keep coming to me, I presume you have forms of ID so we can get a cash/credit card for you?" She hurriedly said "If you insist on this I want a limit on the card, I don't want the kind of card you have, that frightens me" "We will do this anyway you want, Ellen I love you, I don't want you to be frightened by anything or anyone ever, that goes for both of you" Libby said with a giggle "Oh, goody I'm getting a credit card" I said quickly "No, I don't think that's a good idea yet, I think you will have to earn that young lady" I laughed so did Ellen and Libby pouted then smiled. We made it back to the hotel and in plenty of time we were ready, in a taxi and off to the restaurant. We had a great time ordering, we all chose the venison steaks and had them cooked medium so the juices ran, not the blood, the vegetables weren't quite cooked enough for Ellen and Libbies taste but were very tasty, Libby struggled to finish her steak, but did find room for the creamy desert, I don't know where she puts it all, then back to the hotel, both Ellen and I decided it would be best if we slept in our own rooms tonight as we would be up early to pack and get ready for moving out, so it was with heavy hearts that we kissed and parted in the corridor of our floor. So we all slept alone that night.
