Celestial Reviews 155 - February 5, 1997
Note: I am having trouble posting with AOL, and so I am asking someone
else to post these reviews for me. Mail should still come to me at
Celeste801@aol.com.
Second Note: There is a new newsgroup that should be of interest to
you: alt.sex.stories.moderated. It contains stories only - no spam at
all, and from what I have seen the stories I've recognized are generally
pretty good. At the present time, not all good stories go there, and so
it is best to search the spam-filled a.s.s. as well. My own plan is to
continue searching both areas for stories to read and review, but you
should consider adding alt.sex.stories.moderated to your list of
newsgroups. In addition, consider sending your stories there, if you
are an author. Remember also that you can access those stories through
DejaNews (www.dejanews.com) by using the keyword
"alt.sex.stories.moderated".

* = Repost of a previous review (because the story has recently
been reposted).
"The Attic" by Jennifer (krreber@ix.netcom.com). The girl has lusted
after the guy who works in the library. After closing time they sneak
upstairs and have sex among the stacks - in the literature section, to
wit! There's not much to this very short story, but what's there is
pretty sexy.

"The Day Before You Came" by Jordan Kent (jordankent@mailmasher.com).
Kelly is a shy, lesbian woman who doesn't have much of a sex life. When
she gets a new boss, she befriends the boss's wife and discloses her
sexual preference. Lydia says that she herself isn't gay, but she
doesn't mind getting naked in front of Kelly and encouraging her to do
her lesbian thing. This may sound reasonable, but it makes Kelly
uncomfortable. Lydia also finds the relationship to be a bit strained
when she finds Kelly in her bathroom sniffing Lydia's underwear from the
hamper.
Kelly becomes confused when she catches Lydia making it with the company
Amazon at the office Christmas party. Afterwards she gets so drunk at a
bar that Sam, the woman who tends bar, has to take her home. Eventually
she develops a tender, caring relationship with Sam; and they live
happily ever after - or at least until the end of the first part of this
trilogy.
This is a new author, and I would like to offer some advice. I
would like to see more focus in the plot development. The way it
is written, the story simply starts at the beginning and tells
lots of details until the end of the story. There needs to be a
bit more focus on interesting elements - and perhaps some less
important elements should be eliminated or at least properly
subordinated.

"Bonnie" by Friar Dave (Friar_Dave@mhbbs.com). Dan has company for the
weekend: his older but not-too-close cousin Mark, Mark's sexy sister-in-
law Kate, their three nubile and buxom teenage daughters, and Kate's
younger sister, the eponymous Bonnie.
Well, on Day One of the visit, Mark reveals to Dan that Kate is
insatiable, and he says that he'd like Dan to help out a bit in the
bedroom. Dan, of course, declines. Then Dan tells Kate that the 15-
year-old daughter has been making a play for him, and she promises to
handle the situation. Meanwhile, 11-year-old Penny keeps asking
innocent but precocious questions. All this before our eponymous
heroine has even arrived on the scene! The action heats up after
Bonnie's arrival. As the narrator says, "Broing!"
{I'm working on a Word for the Day program. As you may have guessed,
the Word for Today is "Legs." Spread the word!}
One could regard this story as a treatise on ways to deflate an aroused
cock - some using cold water and some using more interesting methods.
One could also regard this story as an example of semi-responsible
hedonism. I wonder if anyone has ever used that term before.
I like Friar Dave. I really do. But as I started reading this story, I
couldn't help saying to myself, "Aha! I've got him. This story is too
disjointed to earn straight 10's." But alas! He managed to pull it
off. That's the breaks, I guess. This is a really sexy story.

"The Blowjob Fairy" by DevoSpudC (devospudc@aol.com). American children
have a tradition of putting their "baby teeth" under their pillows at
night after they fall out, and the Tooth Fairy allegedly comes during
the night and leaves money in the place of the teeth. I personally
doubt the veracity of this legend. Anyway, the Blowjob Fairy is much
like the Tooth Fairy, only it is the person who is visited who does the
cumming during the visitation. In the present case, Rachel is a college
student who gets turned on by her roommate's younger brother who is
sleeping on the couch. So she sneaks out during the night and gives him
a blowjob without even waking him up. Talk about wet dreams!
This story is listed as Part 1, but I don't know if there are any more
parts anywhere. It's also labeled as part of The Adventures of Rachel
Mcmillan, but I am not aware of any other adventures.

"Taboo" by B. Traven (MCG@bartra.demon.co.uk). This story is part of the
series being put together by Merrill, Castle and Gray. The stories are
literate and mostly of high quality, and this story is no exception. It
describes a quickie between a 38-year-old mother and her 22-year-old son
before she hustles off to work in the respectable world. In addition to
one sexually explicit scene, the story contains some interesting
background thoughts about the nature of their taboo relationship.

"High Beams I" by Mark Aster (MyFrThAl@aol.com). What we have here are
several erotic vignettes that have no discernible connection with one
another. The sex is really hot, but there's no real plot. So I suppose
if you're reading to get turned on and don't require a plot for that
purpose, you'll thoroughly enjoy this story.

"Surprise!" by Spamfree (Spamfree@cyberg8t.com). The narrator is the
female manager of a record store. One day she comes to work 15 minutes
before opening time and notices her assistant manager, a person whom she
considers to be an arrogant jerk. To teach him a lesson, she makes him
come into her office and gives him a quick blow job. This is the part I
don't get. Morton apparently enjoys the blow job, but the narrator
figures she put him in his place! Go figure.

"The Secret Room" by Taylor Norton (jocon@tiac.net). While Roger and
Jenny are renovating their new mansion, they discover a hidden room deep
inside the old house. They also discover a flask of mysterious liquid.
When Roger samples the liquid, he instantly changes from a kind person
into a raving sex maniac. When his lesbian sister stops by for a visit,
Roger forces her to join the orgy. They discover that evil urges aren't
all that bad.
This story is seriously marred by really bad grammar. If you have the
patience to wade through the grammar and if you enjoy rape and sex
slavery stories, you may find this story to be enjoyable.

"The Essence of Addiction" by Taylor Norton (jocon@tiac.net). This is a
story filled with symbolism that relates drug addiction to sexual
activity. The addict cases a mansion, breaks in, and becomes the sextoy
of the coven of people who inhabit the house. It's a depressing but
interesting story. My feeling is that if this author would proofread
these stories or have someone else do so and think the plots through
just a little more carefully (possibly by getting feedback from someone
else prior to posting), he/she would become a first-class author.
Here's an interesting word-choice error: "She beckoned again; I went to
her willfully." The author meant "willingly." The sentence as written
means that he went obstinately bent on having his own way.

"An Ad to Remember" by R. Davidson (aredee@ix.netcom.com). This is a
repost from The Backdrop Club. The woman wanted to be dominated, but
only sexually. She didn't want to live a slave's life. She wanted to
have sex with strangers, but how do you get to the sex part if you don't
know the guy? She wanted to be forced, but how do you ask to be forced?
She wanted to be tied up, but not feel in danger. She wanted to be
hurt, but not so that the pain was unbearable. She wanted to be
humiliated, but not all the time. She wanted to be a slut, but only
when the time was right. In short, she just wanted to be used, abused,
and fucked good and hard... on her own terms - which, of course,
included it being mostly on the stranger's terms. Not an easy bill to
fill. I think this is the sort of woman who can be accused of sending
mixed signals.
So I'm set up for some sort of plot, and then the "story" turns into a
prolonged, largely incoherent bdsm wannafuck - but not really a
wannafuck, because it would be difficult for an interested party to
respond. The Backdrop Club offers an interesting service, but only if
you have some way to know what the stories are about. This one is
simply not very good.

"First Day in Paris" by freeb (nfisher@teclink.net). The narrator of
this story is an aspiring young artist. Her interests go beyond merely
drawing and painting. She likes to get into the biographies, the life
of the artist: the demented romanticism of Van Gogh, the vision of
Rembrandt, the pain of Machiavelli. That's right; the pain of
Machiavelli. He's the guy who drew the really famous picture of The
Prince.
Anyhow, this lady goes to Paris to visit the Louvre, and afterwards she
has her cherry popped and gets gang-banged in a public restroom.
Assuming the author knows a little more about Parisian restrooms than
she does about Machiavelli, maybe it really is possible to find true
romance while kneeling in a public bathroom, surrounded by friendly
strangers.

"My Sweet Sarah" by ztps (ztps@aol.com). This is a story from
alt.sex.stories.moderated. It proves the moderator's claim that
everything there is a story, though not necessarily a well written or
good story. This is one of those second person ("you") narratives that
are often difficult for third persons to follow. Basically, a guy
becomes attracted to and makes love with a female coworker. Actually,
they don't make love, if that means full vaginal penetration; but they
do some very nice things to each other. However, the grammar and style
are sub-par, and the story is not all that creative: just an ordinary,
run-of-the-mill affair between a guy who's unhappily married and a
single lady who works with him.
