Celestial Reviews 95 - June 29, 1996

Note: A message recently appeared on a.s.s. asking us to pray for Ann
Douglas, who had reportedly died in a tragic automobile accident.
There was no such accident. I became suspicious not only because this
is at least the second time Ann has “died” within the past year but
also because I continued to receive e-mail from Ann. I guess it is
possible that I am dealing with a ghostwriter <g>, but my assumption is
that Ann is alive and well and writing good stories, one of which is
reviewed in this issue. Of course, if you want to pray for Ann anyway,
I assume that would be OK with both Ann and God. On the other hand,
you may consider praying for the poor wretch that thinks it’s funny to
post false death notices.

“Composition in Cream and Chocolate” by Mary Anne Mohanraj
(moh2@midway.uchicago.edu). I found it difficult to determine exactly
what was happening in this story. After reading a paragraph or two I
often found myself reaching a point where I gained a new piece of
information and had to back up to fit it into the picture that was
gradually emerging in my mind’s eye.  This ambiguity is not a flaw;
it’s intentional - end it’s very well done.

The theme is unusual: a male stripper gradually revealing himself and
offering his attentions to a female patron. I have never attended such
a show myself, and all my vicarious experiences have consisted of films
and stories about female strippers. I HAVE gone with my husband to
bars with striptease dancers (while we’ve been away at conventions - so
that none of my students will see me entering the establishment and so
that I won’t accidentally discover one of my coworkers at her night
job.) My impression has invariably been one of disappointment; the
dancers were simply not very sexy. They seemed to be in worse shape
than myself, bored with their jobs, and concerned primarily about
squeezing tips out of patrons before putting on a tawdry display that
wasn’t really sexy at all. Nevertheless, it seems reasonable to
FANTASIZE about exotic dancers in terms of wonderment; and this story
turns the tables by making a male dancer the center of attention. I
guess what we have here is the male stripper equivalent of the ideal
lap dance. This was a new and very erotic experience for me.

The show starts in near darkness, as does our understanding of what is
going on. Even at the end of the story, I wasn’t sure exactly what had
happened. The sex had been explicit, though conducted by candlelight
in a dark room; but questions remained unanswered. All along I had
assumed that the woman was a patron - but at the end we hear an
audience applauding. And near the very end we have a reference to a
pile of cream and chocolate skin; and I am struck with the realization
that the woman is brown-skinned and the man is white. OK; the two must
BOTH be dancers, and they’ve been putting on a show for an audience....
That’s why it’s called “Composition in Cream and Chocolate.” Wait a
minute! I’m going to have to reread major parts of this erotic
narrative - maybe even the whole thing - to see if my new theory fits.
Gee, that’s too bad. I’m already turned on, and you can never tell
what a second reading is going to do to me....

In recent reviews I have railed against what I have called a demeaning
use of interracial sex in some of the stories. This story does NOT
fall into that category. The skin color is part of the ambiance -
music, skin color, facial features, nipples, actions, etc. - that
create a sexually charged, poetic atmosphere. This is an excellent
story. This author has a whole collection of her stories on the Web at
http://mud.bsd.uchicago.edu.

“Gravity” by Mark Aster (MyFrThAl@aol.com). "Don't be afraid of
intimacy while you're pregnant! Unless your doctor tells you that you
have a special condition that makes it inadvisable, you can enjoy sex
right through the ninth month.” Julie (the older Allen sister) is
reading these words out loud from a book as she passes through the
room, where Pat and Our Hero are well along in a demonstration of the
veracity of this assertion. My own obstetrician stated it more
succinctly: “Just make sure your husband is not in the way when I’m
delivering the baby.” My husband and I operated on the theory that the
baby would be happier if she knew that Mommy and Daddy were happy, and
what more direct means of communication could we find? Or, as Pat
said, "Cradled safe in your womb, the baby will not be disturbed by
intercourse, and it may even be soothed by the gentle contractions of
orgasm."

The title is a play on the word “Gravida,” which is the Latin term for
“pregnant,” and which shows up on medical records - not to be confused
with “jam jam in januis,” a religious term indicating a much greater
sense of urgency as a basis for a quick marriage. I see “gravida” most
often as an explanation for why a girl has dropped out of school, but
here it occurs in a happier context. This story brought back happy
memories for me - although I didn’t have the luxury of a sexy sister
fondling me and playing tongue games with me while my lover sent gentle
contractions to the creature cradled safely in my womb.

“A Hot Summer's Night” by Ann Douglas (annd55@nyc.pipeline.com). Mr.
Smith was a mortician. One day Old Herman died, and his body was
brought to Mr. Smith’s establishment. When he undressed the body, he
was impressed with the size of the male member of the deceased. Old
Herman had apparently died while having at least a happy thought. Mr.
Smith said to himself, “Nobody will believe this!” and then he had an
idea. He simply hacked off the penis and placed it in a small box.
After he finished preparing the body for burial, he headed home, where
he was greeted by Mrs. Smith. He handed her the box, saying, “You’ll
never believe what I have in here.” Mrs. Smith opened the box, took a
quick look, and exclaimed, “Omigod! Old Herman is dead!”

This story is completely unrelated to my joke, except that Old Herman,
the building superintendent, has died. Rachel meets Toni, the new
superintendent, and quickly discovers that both of them had given head
to Old Herman before his untimely demise. One good turn deserves
another, and soon the two ladies are making love. The story is well
written, and the sex is tender and passionate - there’s not much more I
can say about it. This was an excellent story.

“At the Clinic” by Unknown Author. The guy in the business office of a
clinic feels horny, and so he calls up a patient and has her come in
for an examination. He passes himself off as a doctor and gets to do
all kinds of neat things - like see here undress, take her rectal
temperature, and feel her breasts. This may sound like a really lame
adolescent fantasy, but there’s a surprise ending that sort of redeems
it.

“Dorothy Does Oz” by Shelby Bush (stbush@iglou.com). In the early
paragraphs of this story we meet Dorothy, a smart-assed farm girl about
to celebrate her 18th birthday, and Toto, the cute little dog that
specializes in licking Dorothy’s clit. The farm hands are planning to
give Dorothy a sexual treat on her birthday. Since the tornado arrives
while Dorothy is masturbating, she initially confuses it with a really
good orgasm. Dorothy’s house is swept up by the tornado and lands on
the Wicked Witch of the East, who had been prohibiting the Munchkins
from any pleasures - including you know what. After spending some time
in the ensuing orgy, Dorothy starts on her trek along the yellow brick
road, where she meets and attempts sex with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man,
and the Lion - among others.

After some adventures and other preliminaries, they meet the Wizard,
who promises to grant their every wish; but first - and here’s the
kicker - they must bring him the dildo of the Wicked Witch of the West.
I don’t want to ruin the story; if you’ve seen the movie, you’ll be
able to guess major parts of the plot anyway. All I’ll say is that the
story ends with Dorothy waking up in her old bedroom as the three hired
hands enter the room, all naked and their erect cocks in their hands.
"Happy birthday," they shout in unison; and Dorothy exclaims, "There IS
no place like home!"

“My Heart Of Steel Is Like Putty In Your Hands” by Tooshoes
(tooshoes@ix.netcom.com). Linda Lee is a supergirl from the same
planet and with similar powers as Clark Kent. In the opening scene of
this episode she becomes caught up in a violent hostage scene and falls
in love with one of the participants. She lives with the guy for a
while and frequently has sex with him, but she realizes that sexual
attraction affects her powers and that the guy is no good for her.
This episode is an attempt to insert some really complex emotions into
a simplistic story line, and it succeeds fairly well. Kara as Linda
Lee comes across as one thoroughly confused young lady; and by the end
of the chapter I was wondering how she might get her act together in
future episodes.

“Supergirl Breaks The Mold” by Tooshoes (tooshoes@ix.netcom.com). This
episode of the Supergirl Saga begins with a focus on two pieces of
information: (1) Supergirl has become interested in the plight of some
downtrodden Cuban refugees, and (2) Supergirl has become involved in a
slightly kinky lesbian relationship with a female reporter from the
Daily Planet. The first piece of information is not surprising; the
second is explained in terms of her need to be passive during sex, in
order to avoid doing serious harm to her partner. In addition, we
discover that Supergirl is under surveillance by agents of the American
government and that her freedom and powers are limited. In short, this
story is an interesting blend of somewhat kinky lesbian sex and
political philosophy.

“Debby’s Dark Lust” by Vic S. Debby started married life as a demure
little lady, and Todd has done his best to bring her along to where she
enjoys things that she previously would not have liked at all. Todd
has often disclosed his own fantasies to his wife, but suddenly Debby
has expanded on his fantasies by saying she’d like to make it with the
new caretaker of the nearby lighthouse. The caretaker is a black man,
and Debby and Todd have surmised that therefore he is well hung. It
turns out that for over 15 years Debby has had a fetish for having sex
with a black man, and this fetish is perfectly compatible with Todd’s
own desire to see his wife get screwed by a man with a large cock.
Therefore, they start making plans to turn fantasy into reality; and
while doing so, their own lovemaking becomes more intense and better
than it has ever been before.

The sex scene with the caretaker is highly erotic, as are several of
the fantasies and husband-wife scenes. The author does an excellent
job of moving back and forth between the viewpoints of the husband and
wife, describing the thoughts of each from the limited perspective of
what each knows about what the other is thinking and feeling.
Actually, ALL the sex is pretty hot; so read the story and check it out
for yourselves.

In a way this story is typical propaganda for the swinging lifestyle; I
doubt that many swingers are as ecstatically happy as these people are.
On the other hand, I doubt that as many people in ordinary marriages
are as ecstatically happy as they hope to be. But fantasies can be
ideal; and this one is certainly a hot story.

As I’ve mentioned before, my sister is married to a black man. He
would dislike this story, but that’s because he thinks pornography is
the bane of society. He’s actually a fine guy; he just has a religious
insight that sex is a personal thing that is not supposed to titillate
strangers and lead children down the path to hell. I happen to know
that his fully engorged cock is about the same size as my husband’s and
all the other husbands’ of the girls on our volleyball team - but he
doesn’t know I know that, and so I can’t discuss this story with him.
Likewise, although my sister herself knows I am a pervert with a dirty
mind, she doesn’t know about alt.sex.stories; and so I can’t discuss
this story with her either.

My impression is that stories that suggest that black men have “monster
cocks” with which they are eager to “service” white women are often
offensive to most black people and that they probably help perpetuate a
stereotype that leads to divisiveness in our society. I have discussed
the matter with the author of this story, and he insists that he and
his friends have a “race fetish” and that he means no disrespect
towards blacks. In fact, he treats black studs with great respect, and
they certainly seem to like the activity they share with him and his
wife. I myself will probably never seek a black stud, but that’s
largely because I have this thing called a wonderful relationship with
my husband. I DO fantasize about black men (as well as white men); but
I honestly think I’m dealing with their whole personalities. {Not to
digress - but I used to have a fantasy that involved O. J. Simpson; but
I got over it recently.  Interesting “personality” there!}

My own evaluation is that this story does NOT promote improper
stereotypes. It’s just a story about oversexed people who engage in
impressive sexual activities. Sure the black guy has his brain in his
cock; but so do the other characters - that’s a compliment on this
newsgroup. I’d like to hear what anyone else has to say.

“Unlucky Number 13” by Thunder (an138013@anon.penet.fi). The boy plays
hooky and goes to play in an abandoned factory instead of going to
school. A sadistic homicidal maniac captures him, rapes him, tortures
him, and then kills him. The boy dies bravely but painfully.

I suppose this is the sort of “snuff” story that scares the censorship
people. Their assumption is that innocent people read a story like
this, get turned on, and then go out and kill little children for
sexual kicks. I myself found the story to be well written and
interesting, but not sexually stimulating. I really don’t know for
sure how homicidal sex perverts act, but the story seemed realistic to
me.

“Bathwater and Incense” by Unknown Author. This is one of the stories
from the THC Archives. I have taken the liberty to correct the
spelling of the title. Given that “incense” was spelled three
different ways in the text, this was a surprisingly good snippet (not
really a complete story) about a man and a woman making tender love in
a large bath tub with incense burning in the background.

“Masturbation on the Road” by TopazMare (an596381@anon.penet.fi). Maybe
there should be a bumper sticker or advertising campaign that says,
“Friends don’t let friends jerk off while driving.” While I have had
some major orgasms in the front seat of a moving vehicle, this has not
occurred while I was alone, driving the car with my elbows. If it’s
dangerous to drive under the influence of alcohol, it’s also dangerous
to drive while you’re out of your mind with sexual pleasure. It’s an
interesting fantasy though. This story is a simple “How to” manual
with a lot of details omitted - and one really interesting grammar
mistake: “ it's too much to bare seeing both of these guys jacking
off while I show off.” She meant “bear.” “Bare” is exactly what she
said she was doing.

“The Falls” by Baggins (baggins@cris.com). This is not a complete
story - just the beginning of very hot foreplay. During a trip to
Niagara Falls the man and woman neck passionately on the walkway under
the falls and then return to their hotel, where the man gently fondles
the woman under the stars in the outdoor pool. This is the kind of
romance that many women can remember - or at least would like to
remember. It will be interesting to see if this eventually develops
into a full story.
