Chapter 3

It was already closing on one-thirty in the morning as everyone started gathering in the Walker's living room. When there was a soft knock on the door, Paul tensed and stood.

"Relax Rambo; it's just Becky's parents," Jen said as Lou answered the door.

The whole group sat around the living room, but it was clear that the tension was building. Greg and Tina didn't eat, but they did drink a lot of coffee while everyone else had some food and soda. Finally, the pizza was extinct, and everyone seemed pleasantly full. It was time, and Jen stood.

"I think I'm the only one here that knows the whole truth about what happened, so if what I have to say hurts anyone, please know that I love all of you, and it isn't intentional.

"A long time ago my brother, John, Myself, and Tina, formed a group relationship. But, up until now, everyone here thought Paul was my biological son, and full-blooded brother of Mindy; he isn't. Genetically speaking, I am no more related to Paul than I am to Becky. Mindy is genetically my daughter though, but her 'Uncle John' is her father, just like he is for Becky and Paul.

"John met, and fell in love with a young woman while he was stationed with her in the military. Holly was transferred shortly after Paul was born. It tore her up to leave her son, but made John and I promise to take care of him. I was in bed with them when he was conceived.

"Only a few months later, I brought my girlfriend, Tina home to share our bed, and we quickly became a family. That bond was made stronger when Tina also became pregnant. Becky was born to us nine months later, and as soon as Tina rejoined us sexually, I got pregnant as well.

"I have no idea what John's job was with the military, but just before Becky's first birthday, John brought two strange men home with him. He explained that he was a member of a special branch of the military and that he was being transferred just like Holly had been. He didn't explain, but he made it clear that he couldn't simply refuse and stay with us; whatever he was doing, was very, very important.

"Obviously, the two men were Lou Walker, and Greg Bey. John had provided all the documentation proving they were our husbands, and that the kids were also theirs. I could tell it tore him apart to have to do this, so I know that what took him away from us was even more important.

"He did come back from time to time to visit us, and see his children, although I always wondered why he spent so much time alone with Paul..." She looked pointedly at her son, and he smiled back at her.

"Before I start, how come Holly never came back for a visit?" Paul asked.

Jen bit her lower lip and almost looked like she might cry. "John wouldn't come right out and admit it, but she is either dead, or someplace that she might as well be. He wouldn't talk about her very much."

Paul nodded. "John had been training me, as often as he could, for almost as long as I can remember. He explained to me that what he did was very dangerous, and there was a small chance that security for our family could become an issue. He didn't ask me if he could train me like he has for the sole purpose of protecting all of you, but I've never once regretted that duty, and I'd still agree to it, even if I was ever asked."

"Before you ask, yes, there is a ton of stuff I'm not telling you, because I can't. I know I'm young, but I know the importance of this secret. Though I didn't know I was his son, I did know he was very much in love with you, Mom. I could also see that Dad knew all about it, and since it was okay with him, who was I to have an opinion? However," He glanced at the three girls sitting beside him looking up at him with love in their eyes. "I think maybe some traits really are genetic." He sighed. "I can tell you that I am probably the most, uh ... well trained teenager in this town. I also know that I would not have hesitated to kill those two tonight if the situation had demanded it. I don't know why, but John never told me that I should be protecting Becky and her folks too. But I sure as hell will be from now on." Paul sighed, and ran his fingers through his hair and he once again looked at his girls.

"John also left me pretty well off financially, so I know I wouldn't have a problem taking care of the girls, though I don't think any of us are ready to be on our own yet. All that being said; do I have permission to see if we ... your daughters and I, can form a relationship, and see if we are mature enough to handle it?"

This time, Greg stood. With a quick glance to the other couple, he spoke. "Paul, even when you were a child I knew there was something special about you. Even though we told you that little Mindy was your sister, you still watched over both of them while we talked, and visited each other.

"I've never even thought kids that young could be in love, but I know for a fact that the three of you were. We separated Becky from you and Mindy trying to get the normal brother-sister bond to form, but you three seemed to find each other again, and you are still in love.

"Even though you have no clue, Paul, the love for them is like a neon sign on your face. But it seems to be forming around young Renee as well. You don't need our permission; we just need to accept what is reality.

"If I might offer a bit of advice?" He asked and the four nodded, although Renee didn't immediately realize he was asking her too.

"Since everyone knows you asked Becky out last night, I would recommend that Paul and she be seen as boyfriend and girlfriend in public. In spite of our best attempts, you can pretty much count on the news about Renee being all over town by Monday morning. Given her age, and her status as the town genius, it would make perfect sense if Mindy and she became close friends. Since it is already suspected that Mindy and Becky are lovers, the rest of the kids will just assume that Mindy and she are headed in that direction. Remember, this is only for public appearances. We would be in a world of shit if anyone ever found out the truth about your relationship."

"What about yours? I know none of you are related, but group relationships are frowned on no matter what," Becky said grinning at the shocked look on her parents faces.

"Relax guys, I told her," Jen admitted. "Paul, with Becky's help, we got a bed that you and your ladies can sleep on. We'll have to make the guest room into Renee's room for the social workers that will be coming through, and we'll have to replace Mindy's bed, but I think we can work this out. Do you guys mind if Becky moves in with us?" She asked Greg and Tina.

"Uh, if we do that, Greg and Tina will have to keep a room made up for her. But I think we are making decisions here without the kids' input, and it's their lives we are deciding." Lou winked at his son and daughters. "Hell, we don't even know if they all want to live together ... yet. Although three of them will be in the same house no matter what. I think we should give them some say in what happens now, since it's them it'll be happening to."

"Kinda hard to say since we haven't had much of a chance to talk about anything. Can we wait on the living arrangements discussion until we get a chance to talk?" Paul asked. "I'm still trying to adjust to all of this myself; I can't imagine it's any easier for the girls. Also, I don't mean to be rude, or a smart ass, but I don't think it's a good idea to make life-altering decisions when you're as tired as I am."

"Wow, handsome and smart! I think our son has grown into a good man! I agree with him; we all need sleep before we really get into this discussion. Lou? Would you and Greg get our stuff from the car?" Tina turned to Becky, "Baby, I brought extra clothes for you, so you could spend the weekend."

"Thanks, Mom," Becky said after a yawn. "As unromantic as this sounds, I'm exhausted, but I think I would like to cuddle?"

"Somehow I don't think you're going to have a shortage of volunteers for that, beautiful," Mindy replied grinning.

After hurriedly cleaning up the mess from 'dinner', the two groups said good night, and the adults headed for Lou and Jen's room, while Paul and the girls headed for his.

Olivia Sparks wasn't getting a nap, nor was she even getting to rest. She was making sure that there would be no opposition to Renee's adoption by Paul's family. Actually that was only a side effect, but she liked to think of this that way.

She grinned at the police cruiser parked in front of the Grimes residence. Stinson hadn't wasted any time getting the little fucker home; he probably didn't even bother to take the little bastards to the station. Well, it didn't matter now.

When she got the signal that her team had gotten the building completely surrounded, she knocked on the door. A very pretty, but subdued, young, black woman with a black-eye answered the door. She was still in uniform, which was surprising considering it was the middle of the night.

"Good morning, Miss. Is Mr. Tanner Grimes at home?" Olivia asked.

"Yes Ma'am, but he's in conference with Mr. Hendricks and is not to be disturbed," the girl said as she tried to hide her eye.

Olivia knew that Hendricks was here as well, since they had waited for them to be in the same place to execute the federal warrants. Olivia turned and pointed to one of the vans on the street. "Do you see that van right there?" When the girl nodded, she continued. "If you run out there, the medic will take care of that eye, and anything else they might have done to you. She'll ask you some questions, and if you answer them truthfully, it'll help us put these fuckers away. Don't worry, none of them will be able to hurt you ever again."

"Miss, I would have left a long time ago, but they got my baby somewhere. They told me that if I ever wanted to see her again, I'd best do what I'm told, and keep my mouth shut," the girl said on the verge of tears.

Nodding, Olivia asked, "Where are they in here? We'll find your kid for you. Where these pricks are going, they'll be happy to tell us everything." She already knew the answer to where they were, the equipment had already placed everyone in the house, but she wanted the girl to think she helped take these bastards down.

After the girl told her how to get to the study, Olivia waved her out and watched her a few seconds to make sure the girl was headed in the right direction. She stepped into the plush mansion, and closed the door.

Na'reel was really thankful that the stupid human let her go; her queen would have been really pissed if she had allowed herself to get captured by the apes. When she got about half way to the van, she stopped to make sure the Captain wasn't still watching her, then bolted into the woods. She heard a couple of agents chase her a little bit, but those idiots still thought she was human too.

She changed her outer coverings from the maid uniform Grimes had made her wear into black-camo fatigues she'd seen the humans wear. She also let her 'real' appearance return except for her hair. White hair stands out like a beacon in the moonlight. Dökkálfar assassin (second level) Na'reel smiled sardonically to herself; her queen would be unhappy to hear of the failure of her mission, but then again, it had been a surprise that it had lasted as long as it had. The human dupes would be punished for their crimes, and Na'reel would go someplace new and set up shop again.

Na'reel lapsed into the ground-eating lope that would get her to a cave she knew to be 'safe', before dawn. Perhaps in the next place she was sent, she could find one of these monkeys brutal enough to at least give her an orgasm. She'd had to restrain herself from just killing that worthless bastard Grimes when he would cum to soon, and quit beating her. His son however, now that little gorilla had promise; too bad he only really got into it with other males. She might consider taking him for a pet if the humans don't kill him, perhaps her Queen would allow it.

Olivia heard the report of the girl running for the woods and she sighed. "Let her go guys, she's just a scared young woman; she'll be back as soon as we find her little girl."

Olivia had already drawn her Glock, when she threw open the sliding doors. She marked the four men in the room, and also saw that the speaker phone was still on. She knew that they had called their 'Boss' for the best way to handle this.

She knew that other agents were serving warrants on him as well. US Senators were hard fuckers to arrest, and even harder to convict, but she had been sitting there when her commander told the Attorney General that if they didn't convict these assholes, then they would be 'taken care of' another, more permanent, way.

Six weeks ago, investigators mistook a human slavery ring for a Fey operation because most of the victims were young children and 'virginal' teenagers. What was discovered was a band of exceptionally slimy humans that were kidnapping, selling and abusing the victims. Connections reached all the way into the federal government, and would be impossible for civil authorities to prosecute under normal conditions.

Hell, due to the nature of the investigation, the trials for these assholes and all the proceedings involved in them would have to be classified under the national security act. So, leniency was allowed in the disposition of the prisoners if they 'resisted arrest'.

Olivia chuckled to herself over the thought of the government publicity people spending the next year or so sweating over keeping a lid on this. The conspiracy nuts were going to have a hey-day.

The telephone went silent, but Olivia knew the man hadn't hung up, he'd simply muted his end. "Gentleman, you're all under arrest for the crimes of slavery, racketeering, child abuse, child molestation, and quite possibly murder." Olivia read them their rights, when she was finished, Stinson was grinning at her.

"And just how does one snotty-little-bitch think she can subdue four grown men?" Stinson said sneering.

"I don't think this is a very good idea, Stinson. She's not a federal marshal," Wallace said to his partner.

"Shut the fuck-up, asshole. She's one little girl, what can she possibly do?" Stinson told his partner.

"Stinson, you really should listen to your partner. He's a lot smarter than you are, granted, that's not saying much, but he is," Olivia replied.

Face red with rage, Officer Stinson tried to draw his service revolver. Olivia shot him between the eyes before the stubby Smith and Wesson ever cleared the leather.

"Officer Wallace, please empty your pockets onto the table beside you, then remove your belt. I want you to use your handcuffs to bind your left wrist to Mr. Grimes left wrist, and your right wrist to Mr. Hendricks right wrist, do you understand?" Olivia instructed the remaining officer.

"Yes Captain, I understand," Wallace replied.

Hendricks looked confused. "Hold it! How the hell are we supposed to be able to walk like that? Wallace'll be facing the opposite direction than we are."

"Jesus Christ man, how the hell did you ever get to be a lawyer?" Olivia asked him.
