That evening, while the four of us sat around the table in our house, Mom pulled out a bottle of champagne and four glasses. Casey grinned, and opened the bottle before pouring the glasses.
"I just wish we didn't have to live here anymore. This place is so much 'him' that I would prefer to sell it and find a new place. The problem with that is that would mean moving away from Casey," Mom said.
"That's an easy one; move in with me. We haven't had much of a chance to discuss it, but I want to marry Jon. I'd like to marry Aaron too, but that's never going to be possible. This would give your living with me some credibility. I don't mean to seem greedy, but thanks to our asshole grandfather, Jon and I are the only two of us that can legally get married. No one else needs to know our true relationship," Casey said.
"Actually, I'd marry all three of you, if I could. What I'd like to do is get you all engagement rings, and the night Casey and I get married, we all can exchange vows with each other," I said.
"Why do we have to wait?" Aaron asked. "I know I want this, anyone with eyes can see that Casey and Jon want this, and I feel that you want this, Mom."
"I really don't want to intrude on you guys. I'm unsure about a lot of things. I never realized I was so attracted to other women before, but looking back, I should have. Being bisexual is new to me, and I'm not sure how to handle it. I've also never heard of a polyamorous relationship that has ever worked. I love all of you, I don't want to ruin what we already have," Barbara said.
"Poly relationships fail mostly because of jealousy," Casey explained. "I honestly don't see any of us getting jealous of any of the others as long as we talk to our mates. Especially when we feel something's wrong, or something starts bothering us. If we talk to each other, problems can be avoided. Being bisexual is no different than being straight, Mom; the emotions are the same, and so is the rest of it. Just because your lover is female, doesn't make her any less your lover. The thing that surprises me the most is the strength of these feelings," she grinned ruefully. "I finally find the perfect lovers to be my mates, and I'm related to all of them."
"What worries me," I said, "is the physical repercussions of our having children. Incest is supposed to greatly increase the odds of birth defects."
"Only if we were to have a daughter, and you had sex with her to produce a child. The more generations out you go the higher the chances. Between siblings of a non incestuous pairing, the odds are about the same as for everyone else," Aaron said.
"So, Casey and I shouldn't have a baby then since we have the same mother and uncle?" I asked.
"Well, I'm not an expert by any stretch, but I don't think it'll be that much of an issue. Granted the risk might be higher, but I don't think it's very much higher."
"Good, because there is an excellent chance I am already carrying his baby, and I plan on increasing that chance as often as I can," Casey said, smiling.
"Well, I think people are going to get the right idea if we move in with you and shortly thereafter all come up pregnant. Especially since you and Aaron are known to have been lovers," Mom said.
"Then let's all move someplace else once we start getting pregnant. As long as we're all together, I don't care," Casey replied.
"Won't that be terribly expensive? Herb didn't make that much money and he wouldn't let me work," Mom said.
"Mom, I've got more money than God, and no one to spend it on except you guys. So please let me? I think we should go up to Colorado, find some land and have a house built," Casey said.
"I'd like to stay in the warmer states. How about Nevada or Arizona? Maybe we could find something near Lake Powell?" Aaron suggested.
"I think I already own a place outside of Las Vegas on Lake Mead. The town is called Henderson, but the actual house is a couple miles out of town," Casey said. "We could go check it out once the divorce gets filed. Which reminds me; Mom, do you have an attorney yet?"
"No, I really can't afford to hire one. I was planning on going down to the courthouse tomorrow and picking up the paperwork to do it myself," she admitted.
Casey pulled out her cell phone and made a call. When she hung up, she looked at Mom. "Alexis Lawson is my business attorney, but she has an associate that does family law. She said they will be calling you tomorrow morning to set up an appointment with you. The four of us are a family. Yes, I may have most of the money, but I want all of you to consider it yours as well. I love and trust all of you."
Mom looked like she was about to cry. "Casey, honey, I don't know anything about all this. Herb's job as a machinist gave us a comfortable living, but he handled all the money and bills. He gave me a debit card for groceries and things, and asked me to keep the receipts. I don't know anything about how to even talk to a lawyer. I don't even know how much is left on our mortgage."
Casey smiled. "Actually, you don't owe anything on the house if you don't want to. I had one of our investment companies buy the mortgage when I found out who you really were. Herb has been paying my company for the last year and a half. The money he sent in was going to an investment fund to pay for Aaron and Jon to go to college. If you want, I'll be here with you tomorrow when they call to talk to the lawyer. Really Mom, you don't have anything to worry about."
