Chapter 3 – Survival

Unbeknownst to Lexi, the gift of blood from Shoryu carried something else. The bio boosted organism that was the Guyver, existed in every part of Shoryu. It was in his body, his genes, and most especially, his blood.

While not quite aware in its own right, the bio boosted organism was definitely alive, with preprogrammed instructions for survival. As it was absorbed into the bloodstream of its new host, it took stock of its new environment. It quickly realized that its new host was flawed. While its new host was powerful and fast, it had one critical weakness - UV rays. The bio boosted organism didn't have enough intelligence to analyze why this was so. All it knew was that somehow, when UV rays hit the cells of its new host, a chain reaction was started that generated and magnified heat.

This would not serve the bio boosted organism's survival mandate. The bio boosted organism had no choice. It had to merge with the cells of its new host to ensure mutual survival. Unfortunately, this would also mean that the bio boosted organism would no longer technically be a Guyver, but that was a small thing compared to living.

The merger would take some time to complete. Though the organism had patience, it noticed another more alarming occurrence. There was not enough of itself to completely merge with its new host. Not that, it was slowly losing cells. It would need to replenish itself somehow.

Since there was nothing that the organism could do about that particular fact, it ignored it and proceeded with the merger. As it continued, it noticed one other thing about its new host. It had latent abilities that were not currently fully enabled. It was as if the host was slowly evolving, and after a few more hundred years, these abilities may surface. Again, the organism had no way to activate these abilities, so it simply ignored them for now and kept merging itself with its new host with single-minded purpose.
