Chapter 2

"Thank you for your cooperation, Professor Janis. I am really sorry we had to be the ones to tell you," the female detective explained.

"Detective, just this morning I found out that Ron had been cheating on me with his office intern. I was so upset, I took the rest of the day off from the University to be with my children. I kicked him out, and was thinking about calling an attorney. What you've told me only helped me to make a decision that should have been a no-brainer," Carol said.

"Well, we most likely won't need more than the statements from the minor girls to get a conviction, but we do appreciate all you and your family have done to aid this investigation. You have two very mature and responsible young people here. You should be proud of them."

"Thank you, I am proud of them. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help," Carol replied.

"I'll do that, Professor, have a good weekend," the Detective said as she followed the last of the police officers out of the house. Debbie looked out the window to make sure the police had left. When she turned away, both she and her mother cornered Joe.

"Okay; spill it. How did you know they were coming?" Debbie asked.

"I can't really explain it, love. I fainted and then I saw the police pounding on the door with a search warrant for the house. I saw a bunch of other stuff too, but can't quite remember what it is. But when I opened my eyes, I knew that the police were about to arrive," Joe explained. "I don't know how or why, but I was absolutely sure about it."

"I think the scariest part of that explanation was the accuracy of the ... vision you had. You saved us from a very sticky situation, honey. If those officers would have arrived while we were still in bed together, I would be in jail now, and both of you would be in the custody of child protective services," Carol said with concern on her face. "You both realize that's what we are risking here; we would never be allowed to see each other again if we get caught."

Joe agreed with her, but something was nagging at him. It was almost a physical sensation, so he shook his head. "Something about that isn't right, Mom. I think it's part of what happened to me. I don't know how, but I get a strong feeling that it won't be an issue soon."

"I don't see how that could ever happen, love. Incest is illegal; that law isn't going to change anytime soon, not to mention the fact that you are both well under the age of consent," Carol said sadly.

"Is that going to be a problem for you, Mom?" Debbie asked fearfully. "I love you; I don't think I could give you up now. I know I couldn't give Joe up."

"I feel the same way, my love. No, it won't change anything between us. I'm only sad that we can't be who we are. I've never felt so loved or complete then I did when we were loving each other. Yes, the sex was great, but what made it that way was how we all felt about each other," Carol said and sighed. "Enough depressing thoughts! I'm getting hungry, and I still need to stop by my office to pick up the assignments that were due today."

"God! Count me in! Keeping our husband happy takes a lot of energy!" Debbie replied grinning.

Joe countered with; "I'll go, I'll need the food to keep our little nympho here happy!"

Debbie playfully slapped Joe on the shoulder as she faked outrage at his comment. "I've never heard you complain!"

Joe grinned at her. "I'm sixteen and the two most beautiful women in the world love me. Why would I complain?"

Carol rolled her eyes at the interplay, and led the way to the garage; Joe and Debbie followed, holding hands.

"Mom, could you please pull in here, I'd like to get a bottle of tea," Joe asked as they approached a convenience store on the way to the campus.

"Sure honey, I think I'd like something to drink as well, how about you sweetheart?" Carol said looking at Deb.

Carol and Joe went in to get the drinks. When they were at the check out, Joe asked his mother to buy two lottery tickets. Since the lottery was one of the largest they'd ever had, she chuckled at his waste of money. "Okay Hon, what numbers do you want?"

He picked up a card, filled the numbers in, and handed it to her. "This is an experiment. I want you to get these numbers on one ticket; the other I want you to get a quick-pick. However, I don't want you to look at the numbers I gave you. Please just fold it once, and put it in your purse."

"Okay sweetheart, but what kind of experiment?" Carol asked.

"Tell ya out in the car, okay?" Joe asked.

"Deal!" She said as she handed the clerk the card with Joe's numbers on it. I'd like one ticket with these numbers, and one quick-pick as well as the drinks, please."

"I thought you said that playing the lottery was a waste of time and money, Professor?" The pretty young woman behind the counter said. Her name tag said 'Janine'.

Carol smiled at the young women. "I'm sorry Janine, I don't remember you in any of the classes I teach."

Janine chuckled. "It was a few years ago, Dr. Janis. I took Econ 101 from you. With as many bright eyed freshmen that you meet every semester; I'm surprised you even remembered I'm going to college there."

She had a deep sexy voice that made Joe instantly hard, despite the fact that he'd been having sex most of the day. She had a dark complexion for a blonde, the face of an angel, smallish breasts, but a super body. Joe was smitten. He also felt that tugging at his mind, like he felt when Carol was talking about what would happen if they got caught.

Carol answered the girl, grinning broadly. "Yes I do believe that, but my son wanted me to buy a couple of tickets as an experiment for something. I think I can justify it. He doesn't want me to see the numbers he picked; only those on the random quick-pick." Both women looked at Joe who was staring at Janine. "He's usually not this rude either." Carol said by way of apology.

"I ... I'm sorry. I know you from somewhere, Janine. I know I do," Joe said in a rush to cover his staring.

Her smile turned sad. "I feel like that too, but I'm sure I would have remembered meeting such a handsome young man. Then again, I felt like that when I first saw your mother as well," She said as she rung up their purchases.

"You know, now that you mention it, I feel that way too, but I thought it was just from having you in class, but now I remember thinking the same thing then. You were the best student I had that semester," Carol said.

Janine printed out the tickets, and looked at them funny, shrugged, folded the first one in half, and slipped a paper clip on it. She handed the folded one to Carol, and the second one to Joe. When their hands touched, Joe felt an almost electric jolt pass between them. Janine sucked in a breath at the touch; clearly, she had felt it as well. Joe suddenly recognized what was happening. He was in love with this woman he had just met. The same way he felt about his other two lovers.

Janine looked intently at Joe, and a tear escaped one eye. She swallowed hard and tried to pull her mind back to the business at hand. To distract her, she turned back to Carol to take the money being offered. Again the shock happened when Carol and Janine's hands touched. Carol and Janine stared into each others eyes, and Janine started crying.

Carol reached out and caressed the girl's face, wiping a tear away with her thumb. "When does your shift end, dear?"

"Now. I'll have to count my drawer down, but that should only take about ten minutes," the distraught woman answered. "This can't be what I think it is."

Carol smiled at the girl. "Yes, it is. We'll wait for you. Do you have a car here?"

Janine shook her head as another girl approached from the manager's office. "No, I rode the bus."

"I need to run to campus for some papers, but I think we need to have a long talk, love." Carol said smiling softly. Janine just seemed to cry harder, but nodded.

It was tearing Joe up to see her so sad. She was so beautiful, and the tears didn't ruin her beauty, but rather just seeing her hurting caused a physical pain in Joe. "Love, everything will be alright, trust me, please. This is meant to happen," Joe said quietly as the thoughts solidified in his mind. This wonderful creature was going to be his legal wife in a few years. He knew she couldn't have children, but nothing past that.

Janine just nodded, and carried her drawer back to the office. The new girl just watched her go. "What's wrong? Is she okay?"

"She just had a shock; she'll be okay in a few minutes. We're going to wait for her to give her a ride home, just to make sure," Carol replied.

"Thanks Dr. Janis. She's really a nice person, I hate to see her so sad. She's been like that far too much lately and I've been worried about her. I thought I was her only friend; she never seems to let anyone get close to her. I'm very happy to see I was wrong."

Joe and Carol thanked the new girl, who's name tag said she was April, and returned to the SUV Carol drove. Once they got out to the car, Carol turned to Joe. "Okay, start talking mister. Why am I head over heels for that girl?"

Debbie's ear's perked at not only the tone but what Carol had just said.

Joe slowly shook his head. "I don't know, Mom. It's like this morning; I know it was supposed to happen, just like I know we're going to be the only winners of the lottery drawing tomorrow night. Janine will also be our wife. She will be my legal wife eventually, but she will love ... does love all of us, just like we love her."

"Who's Janine?" Debbie asked.

"Our man here has another women in love with him. But I'm not jealous because I'm in love with her too. If I understand what he just said correctly, you'll know exactly what I mean as soon as you touch her. Just how many more women are we going to gather?" Carol asked with some exasperation.

"None, Janine is the last person to join us. But..." He looked back at the store confused. I can 'see' Janine with us, but there's something still blurry. She is most definitely female, you saw that. I know she is the person we were missing, but ... she'll father ... children?" Joe said, confused.

"Now that doesn't make any sense at all," Debbie replied.

"Okay, we'll find out soon enough." Carol paused. "Now, you said something about winning the lottery?"

Joe nodded. "Tomorrow night's drawing. We'll have both the winning tickets."

It was Carols turn to look confused. "Huh? How can we have both the winning tickets. You had me buy numbers you picked, and a totally random quick-pick."

Joe handed her the ticket Janine had given him. "Look at them."

Carol pulled her ticket out of her purse and opened it. "Oh! My! God! Joe, this is getting pretty frightening."

Debbie looked over her mother's shoulder to see two identical tickets. "Why did you get two identical tickets?"

"We didn't," Joe explained. "I wanted to test a theory I had. I knew the winning numbers for tomorrow night's drawing. So I wrote them down and asked Mom to buy two tickets; one with my numbers, and one that was a random selection. If we were truly the only people that would win it, both tickets would be identical. Other wise, I'd know these ... visions are simply lucky guesses on my part."

"But how did you know they were the same? I don't remember you actually looking at either of the tickets," Carol asked.

"I didn't have too. When Janine went to hand them back to us, she got them confused. She actually handed you the random ticket," Joe explained.

"How much will we win, Lover?" Carol asked.

"When the smoke clears and the government takes their cuts, about two hundred, sixty-seven million. Once we get the check, we'll need to make some investments. I'll point them out to you in the copy of the Wall Street Journal you'll be bringing home from your office tonight," Joe said. His eyes got milky, and his head fell back against the seat as Janine climbed into the back with Debbie. "We will also buy a small island so Janine can conduct her experiments, and we can live as mates. Her discoveries will improve and destroy the world as we know it.

"The four of us will always be a family and love each other, though, from time to time, we will have other lovers, including our children. There will be times we will be very frightened, but it will always work out. The US Government will try to take control of Janine's work, and our lives, but they won't be able to. We will always be free, and after the move to the island, free to love each other as well. Once Janine's discoveries are made public, the whole world will be free."

Joe's eyes cleared and he groaned as he leaned forward and rubbed his temples. "Fuck! That hurts!"

"What the hell was that?" Janine asked wide-eyed.

"We'll explain in a minute, sweetheart. I'd like you to meet my daughter, and our wife, Debbie." The way Carol said 'our' made it clear to Janine that she was included in that.

Debbie offered her hand and Janine took it. They just held hands and stared in wonder into each other's eyes. Slowly, Debbie leaned forward and kissed Janine tenderly on the lips.

Janine moaned deeply and opened her mouth for the girl's tongue. Carol grinned and got out of the SUV. She ran inside and got four more bottles of the tea Joe liked, and a bottle of Tylenol.

When she got back to the SUV, the two girls were still kissing, and Joe was still in pain. "Hey you two, save some for the rest of us, will you?" Carol asked playfully.

Debbie had climbed onto the older girl's lap, and when she pulled back glanced down at Janine's groin and smiled at her. "I'm really glad to meet you, lover."

Janine looked terrified a moment before she realized that Debbie wasn't offended at her birth defect. That kiss had really turned Janine on, and now her small, six inch cock was hard as diamond between her long, slender, female legs.

Debbie saw the look, and leaned back in to whisper in her ear. "Don't worry, my love. We all already love you for you, not for what you have between your legs. No one here is going to reject you. You're part of us."

"I ... I've never felt like this before. I love all of you so much it hurt to think you all would reject me," Janine said out loud.

"Dear, you are a sweet person, and drop dead beautiful on top of that, why on earth would we reject you?" Carol asked from the front seat.

Janine smiled and swallowed hard. Glancing at Debbie for support; she told her story.

"When I was born, I had a defect; I was born with a penis. As I grew, it became clear that I was female. I wasn't developing the body mass or musculature of a male, so my parents helped to let me grow up as female. Since I was so different then other kids, I was home schooled until my father passed away when I was thirteen. My body was clearly female, except for the small penis between my legs. Tests indicated it was fully functional but because of the ovaries inside me, the sperm count was very low. I don't have a uterus, or any of the other lower female reproductive organs, but apparently the ovaries made sure I was female.

"Because of my medical condition, the school would only let me attend if I were not allowed to shower with the other girls. Up until I met you three today, I've not been attracted to females at all, only boys. That didn't matter to the school board who looked at me with distaste clear on their faces. My mother saw it too, and told the board that if they were going to treat her daughter like some kind of sub-human then she would make damn sure none of their personal bias affected me. My mother told the school board that if one word of my condition were to get out, she would sue the school board for every penny she could get. They laughed at her, and basically said go ahead.

I was allowed to attend school, and for the first two years it was okay. I liked some of the boys, but I refused to go out with anyone which got me labeled a lesbian.

I guess the football team took exception to that because they caught me after school one night, and took me behind the Gym to 'show me what I was missing' They ripped my clothes off and saw my small penis. Now the cries of Dyke turned to Faggot and Pervert. They didn't care that I had never gone out with anyone; all they cared about was that I was a female with a dick. Since that meant to them that I was a guy, I was beaten, and they took turns raping me; since they'd decided I was a gay faggot, and that I should appreciate what they were doing for me.

"They almost killed me that night. The police found me slowly crawling home. I was taken to the hospital and treated for my injuries. I told the police who did it and had the doctor and nurses perform a rape kit on me for use in the trial. However, no arrests were ever made. From what they told me, the young men in question were with their coach at a team meeting that night. Since they were all fine, upstanding football players, and I was a hermaphrodite freak, I had to be the one that was lying. I was expelled over the event because I was spreading lies and slander about the football team. I finished high school from home, while I contemplated the best way to kill myself.

My mother beat me to it, though, She died of cancer a month after I received my diploma in the mail. My grades had won me an academic scholarship, so I took it and immersed myself in my studies. Now, I'm just about finished with a Doctorate in Physics, and no idea what I want to do with my life."

Debbie was holding the older women and crying herself now. The rest of the family had tears in their eyes as well. Joe had taken the Tylenol Carol bought, but the headache was quickly forgotten as he listened to her story.

"Well, you're more than welcome to spend your life with us, if you'll have us," Joe said softly, reaching back to take her hand.

"I think I'd like to see what happens between us, but I'm confused about a few things; Dr. Janis, you said these are your children, and ... mates?" Janine asked.

Carol nodded. "Outside of school, you can call me Carol, love. Yes, they are my mates. I've discovered my soul mates in my children. I don't just love them as my son and daughter anymore. They've become much more than that to me. On top of that, Joe is only sixteen and Debbie is fourteen. But they are more mature than most of the students I've had. I hope that doesn't bother you?"

"No, as long as you don't mind sharing. I've never believed in love at first sight, but now I have to. I don't know why, but I think I would kill myself if I couldn't be with all of you." She looked a little uncomfortable, and concerned. "Uh, what was Joe saying when I first got in?"

"We don't have an explanation for it, but since we all made love this morning, he's been having premonitions. Frankly, it's freaking us all out a bit, but he's been dead accurate on everything he's said so far," Debbie said.

"Was that why you bought the lottery tickets? Because he could see the numbers?" Janine asked.

"Yeah, I not only saw the numbers, but I saw us winning. There will be some confusion because we have two tickets the same, but that will be alright as well," Joe said. "As long as you go back in there and report one of these as a misprint and make sure the card we filled out is saved to back up the fact that we wanted these numbers."

"You're right. They'll invalidate it. They might be suspicious anyway since we are going to be together. But as long as we don't do it again, we should be alright," Janine said. Why don't you give me the tickets, and I'll go get it straightened out?"

Carol handed her the tickets without hesitation. "Remember dear, one of those is worth, or I should say will be worth two hundred and seventy million dollars tomorrow night."

Janine grinned at her. "You really believe that?"

Carol nodded. "After tomorrow night, you will too."

"I'll take your word for it, beautiful. Be right back," Janine said as she got out of the truck.

"In the alternate time line, Janine's body will be found tomorrow night. She bled to death because someone cut her penis and testicles off and left her in an alley. She had been raped repeatedly then beaten before they mutilated her." Joe swallowed the sudden tears as he saw, in his mind, what they had just changed. "The police never caught the persons involved, and it would remain unsolved. The manager of this store will be arrested for the rape and murder of the other girl, April, next month. He'll rape her after closing one night, and will beat her to death. In this time line, he'll be shot to death tomorrow morning during a robbery covering the shift that Janine would have worked if she hadn't quit. The robbers are friends of his that would have taken Janine with them for a little 'fun'. The manager would have been with them. They'll shoot him because they'll think he set them up."

Before anyone could say anything, Janine got back in the truck. "April said she'd take care of it. I hope you all don't mind, but I quit this job. The manager gave me the creeps and I was thinking about doing it anyway. Meeting you guys convinced me my luck is changing."

Debbie sniffed and wiped her eyes. "You have no idea."
