Day Forty-eight - Saturday
We had set an alarm for five thirty, but I didn't need it. I was sucking on an available nipple at five. As soon as Sue began squirming, I went down on her, bringing her to an instant orgasm with kisses to her clit and surrounding area.
She wanted to return the favor, but I told her that we should get rolling and have a cup of coffee before we left. We were in and out of the shower, dressed, with coffee made and the patio light on, at five-forty five.
Glenda walked over with her cup, followed by Martin. They said they were so excited about coming with us because they really weren't a part of the company.
Sandy and Mandy showed up with big smiles, saying this was the first time they would see something they built tested by professionals.
Ruth and Tiny came to say they were ready when we were. By six thirty Charlie, Jim, Shawna, Hanna, and their trucks were ready to go. Tom and Al came over, saying that they were having trouble with their car and might not be able to go.
Sue asked, "You both don't have cars?"
Tom said, "I have a car, but it's been having some trouble. Al and I went together to get it. We'll fix it today so we won't be late for work Monday."
Sue went into the house and brought the keys to her other car out. "I just got it back from the dealer after the robbery. Use my car until you can get your car fixed. You two need to talk to Steve, he has a good pickup for sale, cheap."
I asked Tiny if he had made sure the company picked up the tab for all the food and he assured me he had taken care of it. Shit, with twenty-eight million dollars in orders coming in, we shouldn't have to count nickels.
Tiny told me the profit from the engine, not only paid for the day, but it paid for the motor shop for a couple of months.
That's what those bean counters are for. To either make you feel good or tell you to sew your pockets shut.
We left at six fifty with Charlie leading our group. We arrived a little early at seven forty five. The track attendant showed us across the track to the infield area. We parked next to the pit area that had Gene's truck. The guys began pulling stuff from trucks to set up for breakfast.
Abe's contingent of folks arrived and began unloading stuff too. This was a tailgate party to the max.
While breakfast was being cooked and coffee made, I went over to Gene and thanked him for inviting us. I told him we had food and coffee for him and all his crew when they wanted it. His crew chief came over and said, "I could kiss you. We forgot that the track concession was shut down and didn't bring a thing. Just don't let my guys have any beer till we're done today."
I told him that if we ran out of soda and water, we would go get some more.
The girls were making biscuit sandwiches with sausage or bacon, egg, and cheese. Someone had made about six dozen biscuits, so we were fixed. Glenda had a big pot of sausage gravy, so anyone who wanted an additional treat could soak up a biscuit full of thick gravy.
As soon as one of Gene's men came to get a snack, they were all over having something.
Two of Abe's men had brought special open canopies that covered our two tables plus the food tables and several chairs. Gene was running a couple of cars around the track, testing tire temperatures and getting a couple of drivers warmed up.
Sandy, Mandy, and I were standing near the car we were interested in when the driver was motioning to the crew chief saying the car wouldn't start. The crew chief unlatched and opened the hood trying to see what was wrong. Sandy and Mandy climbed over the wall and moved men out of the way to look inside. They had their heads and hands down in the motor then raised back up and gave the driver the twirling finger sign. The motor cranked into life.
As they climbed back to our side of the wall, the crew chief came over and asked what was wrong.
Sandy said, "You forgot to match the connectors on your wire bundles. All of them are color-coded so all you have to do is color match them and plug them together. I could see that the instrument bundle was connected to telemetry bundle, so we just unplugged everything and put them where they belonged."
"Glad you were here, I didn't even think to look at that first. Thanks, the guys will love to be razzed about a couple of babes finding their errors."
The car made two laps at a moderate speed, then picked up speed, circling the track until it was going all out. The crew chief and a couple of NASCAR officials were on the stand that had all of the monitors for the car and the engine.
We watched the car eat up the miles going round and round with the engine screaming with what sounded like joy to me.
Sandy and Mandy were listening constantly to the sound of the motor all the way round the track. The crew chief finally invited them up to watch the output from the car's sensors.
The car made regular pit stops for gas, and every other stop for tires too. A couple of suspension adjustments were made early but none after. Drivers were changed about once an hour.
We all had lunch and supplied the track folks as well. The menu was grilled Italian sausage, wings, burgers, and bratwurst, plus all the side stuff.
The folks were cheering the success of the motor when it hit the six-hour mark. The drivers couldn't drive the car any faster or they would lose the car in the corners. The car was faster than any other on the track was. Some could keep up with it for a while but couldn't keep up the pace. The difference was Gene's people were trying to kill the motor, not save it.
The NASCAR engineers were talking about the frame and what they thought was good and bad. The crew chief told them since the frame was a little stiffer; fewer adjustments needed to be made as the day went on. As a matter of fact, he told them that they had not made any adjustment since the first laps of testing.
Tiny and the guys had gone out for more water, beer, soda, juice, and steaks, with all the trimmings in anticipation of finishing around eight or nine.
At eight thirty, the engineers said five more laps at as high a speed as the car would go, and they would call it quits.
When the car rolled to a stop, the tires steamed from the intensity of use. The crew chief and engineers went over the car checking all the sensors while the engine was still running. They did a couple of run ups then shut it down. They opened the hood and checked oil levels and took a smear on a piece of glass for a microscope.
They looked at it for a few minutes then the chief engineer called Sandy and Mandy over to take a look. They said the oil was perfectly clear after twelve hours of hard running. They took some compression checks then buttoned up everything in anticipation of the tear down Sunday.
Every one was served a lean New York strip with French fries and Cole slaw.
Tiny stood on a tailgate and addressed the crowd of almost fifty, "Today was another mile marker. Watching someone punish a machine for twelve solid hours was almost painful, but those two girls weren't pained, they were proud of their work and confident the engine would stand the strain. One of the NASCAR engineers answered a question for me. The question was "How many new engine builders have an engine that runs the twelve hours at top rpm?" You know what his answer was, 'It hasn't happened yet.' Today it did."
"I asked these two technicians that built the car how they did it. They said to me, 'It was easy when you had someone like Steve that had the faith in them and, when they needed it, was right there to work with them.'"
A bunch of my crew was handing out plastic champagne glasses full of the bubbly. When everyone had a glass, Tiny spoke again, "This toast is to Gene, for having the faith in Steve, and to all of S&S Enterprises for another perfect job."
There were cheers and hollers all around, even the engineers celebrated with us. One of them said to Sandy and Mandy, "If that thing is to spec, you two are going to be known throughout the industry."
The same guy came over to me and told me he was recommending approval of the 18 percent stainless frame. He thought it was a performance and safety improvement. He asked if I had patented the idea, and I nodded that I had, knowing full well uncle Ben needed to get right on it.
We loaded everything up and finally cleared the track by ten. When we got back, we cleaned up and decided to use the hot tub before bed. All of us needed a shower before traipsing down to the pool so we separated, met on the patio, then went to the tub.
There was surprisingly little play. Hanna tried to get all the men to let her suck them off, but the wives all had other thoughts. Sandy asked Sue if I could play with her and Mandy. Sue helped get them hot and get them off, while I kissed and plowed both of them. I saved all of my juices for my big titted babe though, and slid into her while she had Mandy on one side and Sandy on the other, sucking her swollen nipples. We both came explosively.
Back on the patio, we all had another drink together, enjoying the camaraderie.
When Sue and I lay down, we were both bushed from a long day at the track and were sound asleep instantly.
